A recent NC State commit, OF Brayden Fraasman (Ross, 2022; OH) returns to the Statesmen after an explosive freshman campaign where he slashed .353/.409/.642 over 190 at-bats, totaling 30 extra-base hits, including 11 home runs. Fraasman put together a highly impressive round of BP, barreling the baseball with authority to the middle of the field from a fast, twitchy right-handed swing. Fraasman generated easy bat speed and rotation out of load, squaring his hardest ball up at 101.7 mph with an average mark of 96.6 mph. Each ball he hit traveled further than 300 feet, while his furthest comfortably cleared the left field wall at an estimated 397 feet. Fraasman showed above-average arm strength from the outfield too, topping at 91 mph on his firmest throw home. Headed into his sophomore spring with plenty of positive momentum behind him, Fraasman figures to be one of the top offensive threats in the GRAC.
Ridiculous offensive tools. Top bat speed guy for Team Ohio at 85mph w/near 40gs of rotational acceleration and top EV of 98mph. Also squared up the ball regularly in BP, showing consistent backspin to the middle of the field. Also showed well behind the dish, where the athleticism translates and quick feet/transfer make arm play up. The ceiling here is through the roof.
Brayden Fraasman: C/OF, (2022) Ross, OH. 5-foot-11, 190-pound. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 97 mph. Begins in an athletic open stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Barreled up multiple balls with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. While catching, he made strong, efficient throws to second at velocities up to 80 mph. Behind the plate, his strong arm produced efficient throws to second at velocities up to 80 mph; showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.94-2.01. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.04.
Hit: Explosive stroke from the right side. Can get a bit rotational at times but there's not denying the tools. As impressive as the jump is now expect more as he fills out athletic frame.
Power: Easy gap pop. Fast bat with easy whip.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Max BP Exit Velocity: 92mph.
Max BP Distance: 278ft.
Field: Obvious athleticism behind the dish. Quick twitch athlete with an easy release. Talented player who stood out with the bat as well.
Throw: Above average strength.

Hit:Fresh off an outstanding weekend in Chillicothe for the Durham Bulls. Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Uses a leg kick timing trigger during slight back load to hands. Smooth, athletic mover in the box. Pull side tendencies ball flight wise with backspin abilities.
Power:Natural tools are well above average. Fast bat with strength. Easy gap pop.

Max BP Distance: 341 ft
Offensive Projection:Run producer ceiling.

Hit: An upright stance using a forward load to create timing. Level path through the zone causing varied ball flight from the floor to ceiling.
Power: Easy gap abilities.
Top BP Exit Velocity: 92 mph.
Top BP Distance: 272 ft.
Offensive Projection: Middle.
Field: Infield...shows good glove position, defensive actions respectable. In the crouch looks comfortable and athletic. Able to let the ball travel along with having quick feet and a quick. transfer.
Throw: POP between 1.88-1.97. 73 across the infield.
Defensive Projection: UTL.
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 155-pound athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Taller stance with fluid moves that since well.
Hit: Handsy hitter who generates natural, authoritative whip through the zone. Already generates above average burst through the zone and has more in the tank as he learns to further utilize his lower half. Impressive hit tool.
Power: Line drive guy with gap abilities and more to come. 87.3 off the bat in BP.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Run: 4.42 H-1st.
Field: Well above average skills set behind the dish for class. Stood out in showcases setting and looked solid back there block/receive wise in game. In the infield he plays low and under control throughout. Nothing flashy but very solid out there. At the catcher position, he has quick and efficient feet with a smooth transfer. Good feel for receiving the baseball with developing blocking skills.
Throw: Arm works. More strength to come.
Defensive Projection: C/3B.
Additional Comments: Talented, young player to follow. Skill set on both sides of the ball is well above average for class.
