2/4/18 5-foot-9, 155 prospect has an uphill bat path. Swung it well during the event. Wassil generates good power in his swing as he recorded an 87 mph exit velocity. His lower half works well. If he can work to create better separation in his swing, his power will only increase. In the infield, he fields with a wide base, but showed good glovework fielding each attempt with no issues. Does a very good job attacking and coming through the ball. His feet moved well allowing him to get around the ball which also lead to him taking good momentum into his throws at 74 mph with solid accuracy to first base. On the mound the crafty right handed pitcher throws through a deceptive low 3/4 slot. Arm action appears loose and easy towards the plate. Consistently pounds the zone with his 77-80 mph fastball that features natural arm-side run. Best off-speed pitch is his 66-70 mph slider as it offers some sharp late break in the zone. Also uses a 68-69 mph changeup with added arm-side movement.
1/24/16 5-foot-8, 130-pound thin build. At the plate, he starts with a wide stance. Gains momentum forward with the swing. Swings on an even plane through the zone with an uphill finish. Registered a top exit velocity of 72 mph. In the infield, he funnels the ball into his body and transitions into a low ¾ slot with 62 mph arm strength across the diamond. Ran a 4.35 from home to first. On the mound the right-hander has a slow tempo, repeatable delivery. Stays tall as he gets to balance point with an easy leg lift and good direction to homeplate. From a ¾ slot his fastball sat 66-70 mph. Spins a 10.4 curveball with a gradual break at 57-61 mph. Mixed in a changeup at 56-68 mph.
