Zack Barienbrock: 1B/3B, (2023) New Albany, OH. 6-foot-2, 190-pound solid frame. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 92 mph. (69.7 mph bat speed average). (19.5 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced open stance with a tight load, then used a quick big leg kick. Bat speed was quick, and showed a simple level swing plane. Up the middle line drive approach. Solid while in the infield, made throws at velocities up to 79 mph; has a clean exchange, consistent feet, and soft hands. Fielded the ball out front with average movement laterally. Showed a quick arm action with a low ¾ slot. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.58.
Zack Barienbrock: 1B/3B, (2023) New Albany, OH. 6-foot-1, 180-pound. Solid at the plate, Barienbrock had a max exit velocity of 85 mph. (65.17 mph bat speed average). (19.01 mph hand speed average). Starts in a balanced tall stance with a quick controlled load, then uses a small leg kick stride. Bat speed was efficient, used a level swing plane and level finish. Found some barrels in his rounds. Line drive approach. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 67 mph; has a natural clean exchange, average feet, and firm hands. Had a compact arm action with consistent accuracy to the bag.In the 60-yard dash, his time was 8.03.
Hit: Righty swinger that starts in an athletic setup. Very smooth/efficient load that leads to a balanced launch. Natural tools are developing while showing present feel for the barrel, squaring up everything in BP. Line to line direction.
Power: Line drive pop with much more to come.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles with his ability to make consistent flush contact.
Max BP Exit: 75mph.
Max BP Distance: 249ft.
Field: Worked out over at first base. Good athlete for the position with feel for the spot. Moves off the bag well with above average ball skills.
Throw: More than enough strength for the spot.
Defensive Projection: 1B.
Scouting Notes: Young right-hander with a smooth delivery. Always under control and is able to repeat. Clean arm that will easily support added strength with maturity. And arm to follow as physical maturation takes its course. Fastball is pure through the zone and he can work both sides of the plate. Breaking ball pops out of the hand with big action on an 11/5 shape. Also showed a feel for a changeup that has some fading action to it.
