8/1/18 Some of the bigger raw power we’ve seen in his class. Stays simple mechanically before accelerating the barrel on a slightly uphill path through the zone. Strength and batspeed are both advanced for his age, generating loud pop to both sides and natural ball flight to oppo gap. In the outfield he plays under controls to the baseball and through with developing ball skills. Would be aided by playing through the baseball on left side of ball/one-handed. Left field type presently.
7/10/18 Very physical bat from the right side. Showed off some of the most raw power we saw at the event. Strength and batspeed are both obvious through the zone. Can get a bit to steep at times but when he’s on plane the ball flies off his bat. Showed the ability to leave the yard in BP. Behind the dish he has quickness to both feet and transfer. Footwork also creates solid direction. Should see improvement in pop times as arm strengthens with maturity. Moves well in the outfield, getting too and through the baseball in a timely fashion. Has some room to grow as a defender but hit tool was one of the more impressive ones we saw for his class. 60-yard dash: 7.25 Pop Times: 2.19-2.31 Catcher Velocity: 69 Outfield Velocity: 68 Exit Velocity: 79
