Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Tyler Mastro: 3B/OF, (2025) Fairmont, OH. 6-foot-2, 175-pound. (63.9 mph bat speed average). (19.9 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a quick stride. Bat speed is efficient, shows a level swing plane and high finish. Solid in the infield, his best throw was registered at 77 mph; showed consistent feet, sure hands, and a natural exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Had a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. On the mound, showed consistent arm speed, also used a compact arm action and a high ¾ arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows some effort. Shows slight running action. (Max spin 1908; Avg 1838). Has gradual action on his 11/5 curveball. (Max spin 1737; Avg 1737).

Body Type: 5-foot-4, 115-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Crouched setup before showing a back load to hands during his small leg lift for timing. Hit: Easy stroke with slight downhill tendencies. Barrel shows some lag through the zone. Works through a middle-away approach with obvious intent to stay inside the baseball. Developing natural tools. Power: 69 mph exit velocity. Much more to come, young prospect. Offensive Projection: TBD. Run: 9.01 60-yard dash. Field: Mechanically sound with feel for the first base position. Aggressive defender with adequate ball skills. Throw: 51 mph arm strength across the diamond. ¾ guy with swinging arm action that will support added strength.
1/21/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-4 115-pound prospect with a thin frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Slow tempo delivery, slight forward lean through leg lift, works in line with a short stride and minimal effort. Uses a long arm action working from a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 55-58 mph fastball is mostly straight with slight sinking action at times.
Curveball: N/A
Changeup: 52-54 mph changeup is thrown with good arm speed. Pitch has some tumbling action near the zone.
Pitchability: Didn’t offer any type of breaking pitch. Shows solid control with both the fastball and changeup. Would like to see a breaking pitch added to the mix as he matures.
