Body Type: 6-foot 200-pound left-handed pitching prospect with a strong frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Good rhythm to the delivery. Uses a hip load with slight counter rotation. Low front side through stride working in good direction.
Fastball: 80-81 mph fastball works out of a ¾ with above average run and sink to the arm side.
Curveball: 70-71 mph curveball works on a 1/7 tilt with developing depth. Pitch has good rotation but needs to improve overall feel for the pitch.
Changeup: 70-72 mph changeup shows late sink through the zone. Pitch is thrown with near fastball arm speed.
Pitchability: Throw strikes with the fastball but mostly in the upper half of the zone. Changeup is best secondary offering, good movement and stayed down in zone. Breaking ball has potential but needs to show ability to consistently put the pitch in the zone.
Role: Possible high school starter, likely a bullpen arm at the next level.
7/17/18 A southpaw pitching prospect in the 2020 class. Starter type with a physical frame out there that could support a ton of innings. Works exclusively from the stretch, displaying a lower effort delivery he can repeat. Uses lower half well, generating both energy and good direction down the bump. Arm action is long back through a high-¾ slot. Tosses an easy 75-78 mph fastball that will show occasional late life. Spins a 1/7 shaped breaking ball with tight action. Will use the pitch to kid ahead or put away hitters. Pitch doesn’t have big action but enough to create inconsistent barrel contact. Although fastball/breaking ball are his primary options he also showed a changeup with some fade at 68-70 mph.
