Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Tristen is for my knowledge the only high school “Switch Pitcher” in the state, showing the ability to toss quality stuff with both arms.
Fastball: Respectable velo from both sides with a bit more from the right. Drops slot a bit on the left to more of a ¾ guy. 76-78 mph.
Curveball: Sharp, 11/5 shaped breaker from the right with a nice combination of depth and action to it. From the left the pitch works on a 1/7 shape with similar depth and sharp action at 64-65 mph.
Changeup: 71-72 mph. Decent sell from both sides with similar fading action. Pitch graded out very well from the right.
Pitchability: Was a bit erratic at the beginning of his bullpen but settled in towards the end.
Additional Comments: Legitimately should be able to use both arms moving forward.
2/13/18 A unique prospect that has the ability to throw with both arms on the mound. From the right side he has an uptempo delivery while working through a high-¾ slot. Arm action is compact with present quickness to his arm. A strike thrower that filled up the zone with three quality offerings. Fastball will stay most true with occasional cut at 78-79 mph. Looks very confident in the 11/5 shaped breaking ball. The pitch has bit with adequate depth at 64-68 mph. Puts regular run and dive on 72-74 mph changeup. Action is heavy and the pitch grader out as one of the better changeups we saw on the day. As a southpaw features an uptempo delivery that requires some effort. Fastball comes out through a slightly lower slot than from the right, sitting 73-75 mph. Spins a sweeping breaking ball with a 2/8 shape and big action at 60-61 mph. Changeup displays heavy arm side action at 69-70 mph. Most impressively, Taylor was able to throw strikes from both sides of the mound.
