Tommy Harrison: C/3B, (2022) St. Edward, OH. Miami (OH) Commit, 6-foot-2, 180-pound. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 90 mph. Started in a tall athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a leg kick. Has an upward swing plane, quick bat speed and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 87 mph; had consistent footwork, a fluid exchange, and soft hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Behind the plate, he made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 80 mph; showed soft hands, consistent feet, and a natural exchange. Showed his ability to throw runners out with an efficient pop time of 1.92-1.98. Calm setup with some flexibility. Showed a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.42.
7/21/20
Hit: Left-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Very smooth, efficient stroke. Fluid mover with easy jump. Middle to pull approach with the ability to generate natural backspin. Both strength and speed are obvious in stroke. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Run producer ceiling. Max BP Exit Velocity: 89mph. Max BP Distance: 311ft. Field: Versatile defender with a big arm. Moves with smoother actions throughout sequence in the infield. THird baseman type. Natural home looks to be behind the dish where he has a well above average skill set across the board. Throw: Impressive jump. Defensive Projection: C/3B.
6/23/20
Hit:Left-handed hitter that starts in an upright setup. Very efficient mover in the box. Everything came together well. Balanced swing with a path that goes in the zone early and out late. With this efficiency he's only going to get better as he becomes more physical which he has already done since the winter. Talented bat to follow. Power:Gap abilities. Offensive Projection:Run producer. Max BP Exit:87 mph Max BP Distance:341 ft Field:Versatile defender that looked the part at the catcher position and third base. Grades out higher behind the dish but more than serviceable at the hot corner. Can really catch/throw back there with above average receiving abilities Throw:Arm is a big time tool at both positions. Defensive Projection:C/3B.
2/16/20
2/16/20 Position Player Hit: Athletic/projectable look to him in the box at 6-foot-1 while swinging it from the left side. Smooth mover prior to launch incorporating a leg lift timing trigger during backload to hands, load creates both balance and energy into foot strike, path is efficient offering a balanced combination of strength and speed to hands/both tools above average for class. All fields approach with the ability to generate natural backspin. Definite follow in the 2022 class. Power: 85 mph exit velocity off the tee, ball jumped in BP, flashed gap abilities with more to come as he fills out frame. Offensive Projection: Run producer ceiling. Field: Fluid defender who showed things to like both behind the dish and at third base. Over at the hot corner he times feet well to get the hop he wants before playing through the ball with consistent rhythm, ball skills are ahead of the curve for class. Behind the dish he starts in a low crouch showing flexibility to hips, easy transition from stance to release, exchange skills are solid, ball comes out easily and quickly. Throw: 73 mph from behind the dish and 78 mph across the infield, loose/whippy arm that will add easy mphs with maturity, arm projects to be an above average tool. Defensive Projection: UTL.
