Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body Type: 6-foot, 160-pound athletic frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Max effort delivery landing open. Sits into back leg and drives through delivery. Smooth arm action with all around sound mechanics to work off of. Fastball: 81-84mph. Glove side movement with potential to locate on both sides of the plate. Curveball: 73-75mph curve with 11/5 movement. Changeup: 74-77mph. Almost enough to throw off hitters balance. Pitchability: In the zone most of the time with all 4 pitches.
2/17/19
Body Type: 6-foot 165-pound right-handed pitching prospect with room to add strength. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Slow tempo delivery working through a hip load. Slight pause coming out of the lift prior to stride. Fastball: 80-83 mph fastball works out of a high-3/4 slot with slight run to the arm side. Curveball: 70-73 mph curveball has good spin with a near 12/6 shape. The pitch flashed some sharpness at times. Slider: 70-74 mph slider has a tighter shorter break than the curveball with an 11/5 shape. Pitch could develop into a plus offering. Changeup: 73-75 mph changeup is thrown with deceptive arm action and shows late sink near the zone. Pitchability: Stuff wise there is a lot to like here. Four solid offerings with two pitches being above average already. Also a possible candidate for a velocity jump, does need to improve overall fastball command moving forward. Role: Presently could start at the high school level. If command and velocity make improves could potentially be a starting option at the next level.

6-foot, 160-pound. Thin frame right-handed pitcher. Really like what we saw from Stickney on this day. Delivery has some rhythm as he moves from chest high lift into a hip load with good direction and a strong lower half. Fastball, 78-80 MPH, works out of a high-¾ with some arm side run when down in the zone. Showed advanced feel for his breaking ball, the pitch has a near 12/6 with some bite at 70-74 MPH. Stickney also flashed a 71-72 MPH changeup that has some sink to it.
1/30/18
Stickney made waves last winter at the Riverbat scout day in 2017 where he earned a TPG invite. At the event last year he was mostly 78-80 mph, with a couple 81’s and topping at 82 mph. Physical maturation is starting to take its course and on this day he didn’t throw a fastball under 82 mph, topping at 83 mph. Aside from his well above average velo for his class, Stickney also tossed a sharp breaker and displayed a playable change. A mechanically sound infielder that does a nice job of creating angles with his feet. Maintains rhythm/momentum through fielding into his throws. Glove looks to be a well above average tool. A righty swinger with fluid, athletic actions in the box. Swing is compact and natural tools are above average through the zone. Generates gap pop, backspining balls to both gaps.

A young, talented prospect with an athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame. On the mound the right-hander has a fluid, repeatable delivery. Lands slightly closed at foot strike. Arm has obvious quickness to it, while working through a high-¾ slot. Throws a heavy fastball with cut to it at 78-82 mph. Breaking ball was tight on a 10/4 plane at 66-68 mph. Was mostly in the zone with the pitch that has enough movement and depth to miss barrels. Showed athleticism to his feet in the infield. Does a nice job of playing low. Tends to field from heels at times. Showed confidence in his glove on the move. A righty swinger with a very aggressive approach at the plate. Creates solid energy with his lower half and showed impressive bat speed through the zone. Displayed the ability to drive the ball into the gap. Has a middle of the order skill set.
