Thomas Ryan: RHP/SS, (2022) St. Xavier, OH. 6-foot-2, 170-pound. Athletic on the mound, showing good arm speed he used a ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Feel type pitcher who uses some effort. Thomas Ryan: RHP/SS, (2022) St. Xavier, OH. 6-foot-2, 170-pound proportional frame. During batting practice, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 90 mph. Begins in a tall stance with a quick controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is average and exhibits a level swing plane. Athletic while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; has soft hands, athletic developing feet, and a clean exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. On the mound, showing good arm speed he had a loose arm action with a ¾ arm angle. Feel type pitcher who uses easy effort. Athletic balance point. Sat with his fastball at 86-87 mph; had arm side command and running action. Throws a 11/5 curveball (65-67) with gradual action. His changeup (76-77) shows fading action and arm side control. His 11/5 slider (71-73) had plus action.

2/22/20 Position Player Hit: Lefty hitter with a vertical stance that shows little usage out of the lower half. Presents a fast bat twitch while staying level throughout the zone. Power: 78mph exit velo with a max distance of 258 feet. Offensive Projection: Line drive run producer potential. Field: Smooth fluid footwork that shows aggressive route running to the ball. Throw: 80mph infield velo. Defensive Projection: 3B. Delivery Notes: Velocity has continued to rise over the past year. A tall lengthy frame with good feel for the mound. Solid lower half with a lower ¾ arm action that gets good movement on the ball. Will be an athlete to watch develop. Fastball: 80-83mph with a 1700-1900rpm spin rate with arm side movement. Curveball: 65-68mph with a 1600-1800rpm spin rate with 10-4 movement. Has the chance to be a knee buckler. Changeup: 75-76mph has arm side fade w/sink.

Body Type: Still has a young, undeveloped frame at 5-foot-11, 135-pounds. But, knows how to get the most out of his body. Going to be fun to watch develop as he grows and adds strength. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Long, loose arm action out of ¾ to high ¾ slot. The ball comes out easy. Athletic delivery. Engages core and lower half well out of both windup and stretch. Repeats his delivery and maintains good sequencing with his actions. Fastball: Mostly 77-78 mph, but ran it up to 79 mph. Filled up the zone. Occasional arm side run. The velocity is going to come. Curveball: Slurvy type breaking ball at 62-63 mph. Two-plane action. Showed command located for strikes through his pen. Changeup: Maintains FB arm speed. Mostly straight at 74-75 mph. Room for development but did show ability to be in the zone. Summary: One of the most intriguing arms at the Midland Scout Day. Still so young, but a lot to like simply based off the easy velo generated with his fastball. Won’t be surprised to see him 80-82 in the summer. CB plays right now, but as he tightens it up, he has a chance to have a solid FB/CB combo. Definite follow in the 2022 class.

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 135-pounds. Long legs, high waist. Skinny frame and baby face. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Starts slow and mechanical out of the windup. Transitions into big leg kick with inward turn. Drives off backside and gets long and high with his front side. Still room to improve use of his lower half. Fastball: Threw an easy 77-79 mph fastball. Doesn't require much effort. Has the chance to be a special arm in this class. Curveball: Slurvey 62-63 mph breaking ball. Located in the zone for strikes. Changeup: Really good arm speed on the pitch, but not enough variance from his FB. Showed more like a cut FB than a changeup. Summary: Has the chance to be a high level arm in this class. Still very young and hasn't peaked in his growth. Exciting to see the ease that he generated the velocity for his fastball.
