Two-way prospect with a lot to like. One of the top performers of the two-days. As a position player he banged it around the yard from the right side of the plate, displaying advanced natural tools for class. In the infield he has well above average ball skills and plays with obvious confidence. Made a ton of plays in game. Everything works on the mound. Arm is clean and he was as mobile as anybody who took the mound at the event. Fastball was up to 84 mph and he showed the ability to control two secondary offerings. Going to throw really hard someday.

5-foot-9, 162 pound right-handed pitcher threw with a longer arm action out of a ¾ slot. Provided good tempo that could be increased to develop more sound rhythm. Parnell’s FB sat 75-78 with some arm side run. His SL moved very well and maintain knee height at 63-64 mph. As he gets older, his arm strength will increase and by getting more out of his lower half. Offensively Parnell switch hits from a wide stance producing line drives with his uphill bat path. He creates good separation and torque in his swing. From both sides, he recorded 87 mph exit velocities. Both swings make good contact and get extended well through the ball. Defensively in the infield Parnell has soft hands fielding each attempt cleanly. His footwork was above average taking good angles to get around the ball and set up for good throws at 80 mph across the diamond. Parnell has plenty of tools that will help him move onto the next level in college.
