A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body Type: 6-foot-3, 175-pound athletic prospect with room to fill out. Swing Mechanics: Level bat path that stays through the zone. Hit: Consistently found the barrel. Balanced approached using the whole field. Power: Live drive type flashing occasional gap power. More power to come as he adds strength. Offensive Projection: Multiple roles. Run: 4.57 H to 1st Field: Athletic defender with smooth/clean actions. Throw: Below average arm strength, 77 mph, throws do have some carry and play better than present arm strength. Defensive Projection: Strong enough defensively for either corner spot, but likely finds a permanent home in left field. Additional Comments: Very nice tool set here. Would like to see him focus on adding strength moving forward.
7/17/18 A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall stance. Uses a leg kick for timing as hands show fluid, back load. Front foot hitter with a slight downhill path to contact. Good athlete with both twitch and strength through the zone. Very projectable frame that has room to fill out. Has a chance to be a beast physically. Swing has some room to clean up but good athlete with impressive natural tools and upside. Athleticism shows in the outfield as well. Mechanically sound with well timed feet. Plays through the ball with infielder type ball skills and gets rid of it quickly. Arm is an adequate tool with present accuracy. Can see him at multiple spots at the next level out there. Behind the dish he creates direction while getting out of stance with fluidity. Average strength with present accuracy to arm. Receiving skills on par for class. Home to 1st: 4.4 Pop Times: 2.03-2.21 Catcher Velocity: 70 Outfield Velocity: 77 Exit Velocity: 87
7/2/18 Liked what I saw from Warren in the box. A righty bat with an athletic load that creates energy and balance at foot strike. Path is slightly downhill with both strength and speed being apparent through the zone. Ball jumps off bat displaying easy line drive abilities with gap pop. Very projectable frame that has room to add strength which could/should lead to added pop down the road. In the outfield he plays under control throughout his process. Plays one-handed through showing solid ball skills. Arm was accurate with average to slightly above average strength for class. A good athlete in general with a frame and skill set that should be interesting for college scouts. 60-yard dash: 7.12 Outfield Velocity: 78 Exit Velocity: 89
