2/14/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Athletic build with room to add.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws out of a ¾ arm slot displaying shorter arm action to round out his delivery. Provides a slower tempo with consistent rhythm while working downhill nicely seeing lower half get activated.
Fastball: 73-76 mph. Ball showed signs of glove-side run. Came out of hand smoothly with some sneaky quickness.
Curveball: 61-64 mph. Best off-speed pitch from him. Has 10-6 break with slower rotation but effective. Saw more spin when thrown out of the stretch position.
Changeup: 67-68 mph. Live low in the zone and saw some sink to it.
Pitchability: Throws with a stronger arm for his class. Will continue to see strength and velocity rise as he fills into his body. Curveball ball is his best off-speed pitch right now which was working well in his outing. Good sized body with upside in abilities.
Role: TBD for now. Plenty of time for him to develop into a role.
