Notes

Comments

6/11/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 215-pound physical frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Overall smooth delivery with good involvement of lower half. Sits back and drives and finishes far out front.
Fastball: 79-82mph. High spin rate around 2,500 rpm’s with near 100% efficiency. Locates fastball on both corners of the plate.
Curveball: 71-74mph. 11/5 plane with sharp movement. Above average offering being an excellent out pitch but capability to throw during any count.
Pitchability: High pitch ability in the zone with both pitches.Swing mechanics:  Smooth and simple load into his lower half.
Hit:  Uphill bat path that produces above average bat speed. Explosive swing that has obvious jump off the barrel. A bit pull happy in BP but there’s no denying the strength behind the swing.
Power:  Big time juice to the pull side.
Offensive projection:  Middle of the lineup guy.
Field: First baseman with all the tools to grow into a solid defender. Has feel for his feet, with a big arm and the frame for the position.
Throw: Big time arm for the first base position.
Defensive Projection: 1B.

2/10/19

Body Type: 6-foot-1, 220 pounds. Tall, sturdy build.
Swing Mechanics: Has a wide stance with an uphill bat path. Gets loaded well and generates energy to produce power in his swing.
Hit: Saw much of his contact drive the ball pull-side. Big intent behind each hack.
Power: 98 mph exit velocity. Shows pure strength and juice in his swing.
Offensive Projection: Varies. Possible middle of the order guy.
Run: 7.9 60-yard
Field: Gets off the bag well at first base as he goes to attack the ball. Showed average hands along with some athletic actions overall and moves well for his bigger frame.
Throw: 77 mph across the diamond.
Defensive Projection: Showed ability to play both first base and pitcher.

2/10/19

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Delivers with a lower ¾ arm slot with longer arm action that get to release smoothly.  Provides an even flowing tempo with fluidity. Nice arm strength coming from the righty on the mound.
Fastball: 78-82 mph. Had arm-side run and comes out of hand with ease. Threw for strikes often but left up mostly in the zone.
Curveball: 68-71 mph. Showed signs up sharper bite to it when he could get on top of it. Progressing his grip and release point.
Changeup: 71-74 mph. One of his better pitches with heavy arm-side run and downward sink to it. Commanded it well too.
Pitchability: Utilizes his body well during delivery process and there is upside to his arm. Intent can be picked up and will lead to increase velocity. Sat 79-80 mph with his fastball early, but was asked to let it go more towards the end of his round and saw velo jump and sat 81-82 mph.
Role:  Starter

11/18/17

A two-way prospect. Brings a physical presence to the bump. Arm is long and loose, showing signs of more velocity to come. Presently will sit 77-79 mph with the fastball that will show slight run at times. Changeup was very impressive. The offering has a fastball look out of the hand before displaying late fade at 72-74 mph. Also flashed a tight, 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 67-68 mph. A righty swinger that starts in a tall setup prior to his toe turn timing trigger. Hands move slightly back at release prior to taking a mostly level path to the baseball. Strength stands out as his top tool. Ball comes off the bat well, displaying gap to gap pop. Topped out at 75 mph off the tee and ran a 5.03 from home to first. Projects as an above average defender at first base. Frame plays and he looks to have feel around the bag. Glove looked to be an above average tools as well. Threw across the diamond with 72 mph arm strength.
