Preston Simon: 1B/RHP, (2024) Delaware Hayes, OH. 6-foot-1, 190-pound. (73.8 mph bat speed average). (21.2 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced wide stance with a compact rhythmic load, then used a short controlled stride. Has a short upward swing plane, explosive above average bat speed and high finish. Barreled up lots of balls with tons of loud contact. Gap to gap line drive approach. Solid capable in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 77 mph; shows choppy in control feet, sure consistent hands, and a clean lengthy exchange. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Athletic capable on the mound, had a high ¾ arm angle and quick good arm speed. Stretch only drop-and-drive type pitcher who uses some effort. Displays even in line shoulders and a low athletic balance point. Lands square with a falling off finish. Showed both sides of the plate command and some running action with tight movement. (Max spin 2042; Avg 1969). His heavy curveball shows slight action and around the zone control. (Max spin 2144; Avg 2102). Has slight sinking action and down in the zone control on his heavy changeup.
