Nolan Williams: LHP/OF, (2022) Revere, OH. 5-foot-9, 150-pound athletic frame. At the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 82 mph. Starts in an athletic stance with a big controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed is average and displays a short level swing plane. Athletic from the outfield, he made throws to the infield at velocities up to 74 mph; has soft hands, a developing exchange, and choppy athletic feet. Fields the ball one hand, movements laterally were athletic. Clocked a 60 time of 7.17 at the event. On the mound, showed good arm speed, also used a high ¾ arm angle with a compact arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and uses some effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 68-71 mph; showed arm side control and running action. Had gradual action on his 1/7 curveball (56-59). His changeup (63-66) has arm side control and fading action.
Hit:Balanced stance from the right side. Efficient loading sequence, incorporating a knee pinch during back load up top. Balanced launch with a path that gets in/out of the zone quickly. Worked through a middle back approach in BP.
Power:Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection:Table setter.
Field:Fluid actions in the outfield with a controlled tempo throughout sequence. plays low through with above average ball skills.
Throw:Clean arm with more to come.
Defensive Projection:Multiple Roles.
Scouting Notes: Southpaw with a fluid delivery that doesn't require much effort. Arm is clean with a balanced combination of strength/speed through a near over the top slot. Expect more velocity to come with maturity. Complements the fastball with a 1/7 shaped breaking ball with big, gradual action. Strike thrower who filled it up.
