2/16/18
5-foot-11, 196 pound infielder has a sturdy build to him and displayed his athleticism. At both first and third base he showed an average glove. Quick footspeed for his size. Ring’s footwork was also impressive as he gets off the bag quick while turning two at first base. Had solid throwing velocity at 79 mph for both positions. Projects more as a first basemen at the next level. At the plate the righty starts in a balanced setup. Gets lower half involved through a knee pinch load as barrel flows to a vertical launch position. Path is slightly downhill showing more strength than bat speed through the zone at this stage. Laced line drives up the middle of the field while displaying some extra juice to his pull side. A bat to follow as bat speed as he adds more burst with maturity.
Infield Velocity: 79
Exit Velocity: 90

Ran a 5.16 from home to first. Starts in a balanced setup at the plate. Goes with a double tap to get things started while moving his hands back to launch. Path is level and strength stands out as his top tool at the plate. Has a chance to grow into a power threat as bat speed catches up to strength with maturity. Exit velocity was 85 mph. Looked the par at third base. Glove works and he looks comfortable at the spot. Moves well laterally and gets rid of the ball quickly. Threw across the infield with 74 mph arm strength.
