Has transferred to Jackson State for the 2019 spring season.
11/23/16
A well put together prospect with a projectable, 6-foot-2 frame. Boyle uses a slower tempo and works through a high-¾ slot. Arm action is long with some looseness to it, with above average arm speed. Sat 81-84 mph with his fastball that showed slight run at times. Also flashed a sharp, 12/6 breaking ball at 72-73 mph. Has the ability to use the pitch to freeze hitters or get them to chase.
8/17/16
6-foot-2, 180-pound athletic build with room to develop physically. Uses an average tempo with a smaller leg lift while letting his lead foot guide his momentum toward the plate. His near over the top arm slot gives his ball a lot of deception and makes it seem like the ball is getting on you quick. Presents above average arm speed on his fastball that sat 80-82 mph. Hides the breaking ball well before throwing a tight, sharp 11/5 curveball at 68-69 mph. This pitch seemed to give hitters a lot of trouble picking up spin.
1/31/16
6-foot-2, 185-pound athletic build. On the mound he shows some choppy rhythm in his delivery. Lands closed at foot strike which causes him to fall slightly towards first base. Short back arm action into a high ¾ slot. Fastball sits 77-79 mph. Curveball sits 64-67 mph with gradual 11/5 break. Changeup sits 70-72 mph.
7/28/15
6-foot-1, 155-pound projectable frame. From the infield he projects as a 3B or 2B type. Shows limited range. Throws from a high-¾ slot with 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. Right-handed hitter that starts spread out and sits down in his legs. Good balance and swing gets in and out of the hitting zone. Registered top exit velocity of 79 mph and ran a 4.71 home to first.
7/29/14
6-foot-1, 150-pound thin body frame with room to fill. From third-base he plays from his heels with balls hit at him, can improve footwork by playing through the baseball. Moves well laterally, throws from a ¾ slot with 68 mph velocity. He hits from a wide set up, uses a hands back to shoulder trigger that can get a little mechanical, shows pull tendencies during his BP round, but can use both fields, reaching an exit velocity of 72 mph. He ran a 5.0 down the line.
