Mitchel Szymczak: C/SS, (2022) Strongsville High School, OH. 5-foot-10, 170-pound. Solid in the box, Szymczak's best exit velocity was 90 mph. (69.07 mph bat speed average). (20.69 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is above average, exhibits a level swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 79 mph; has soft consistent hands, a natural clean exchange, and athletic in control feet. Uses his glove out front. While catching, his best throw downs of the day reached a max velocity of 78 mph; had soft hands, athletic quick footwork, and a quick clean transfer. had quick feet and transfers on his throw downs, recording a 1.86-1.96 pop time. Some flexibility and clean setup. Had consistent accuracy to the bag with a compact arm action. Showed his athleticism during the event with a sub-seven 60 time of 6.84.
