On the mound Deines throws from an almost over the top arm slot. He utilizes what some would call a ‘tall and fall’ type of delivery. His fastball was 73-75 mph and stays on plane somewhat but was pretty true through the zone. His breaking ball was 64-65 mph. It was a tumbling overhand curve that showed some depth. He also displayed a 66-67 mph changeup that showed a fading action at times.

Right handed arm with a frame that can handle more. Shows flashes of athleticism on the mound. Fast paced motion with small leg lift requiring normal effort. Big glove side that creates some deception before the ball comes out of a near over the top arm slot. Arm is long out of the glove. Fastball with occasional cut to the glove side at 75-79 mph. Curveball is near 12/6 with gradual break at 63-65 mph. Mixed in a changeup at 64-65 mph.
