(21.51 mph hand speed average). Begins in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Bat speed is above average, exhibits a level swing plane and high finish. Found multiple barrels through his rounds. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 83 mph; showed soft hands, a clean exchange, and quick fluid feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Showed a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. During the event, clocked a 60 time of 7.46.   

Max Stewart: 3B/1B, (2022) Batavia, OH. 6-foot-2, 218-pound. During batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 93 mph. Started in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride. Has explosive bat speed, flat swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 81 mph; had sure hands, a natural exchange, and smooth footwork. Showed a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.6 in the 60-yard dash.

Max Stewart: 3B/C, (2022) Batavia, OH. 6-foot-2, 218-pound physical mature frame. Advanced at the plate, the right-handed hitter's best exit velocity was 95 mph. Began in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, has a rotational swing plane and good extension on his finish. Found multiple barrels with a lot of loud contact. Up the middle approach. Solid in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 83 mph; has rhythmic feet, a clean exchange, and sure hands. Had consistent accuracy to the base with a high ¾ slot. 

Max Stewart: 3B/C, (2022) Batavia, OH. 

6-foot-2, 207-pound physical frame. Solid at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 93 mph. Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed is explosive and has a level swing plane. In the round he found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Gap to gap approach. Solid in the infield, his best throw was recorded at 83 mph; has consistent hands, and athletic feet. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball deep. In the 60-yard dash, recorded a time of 7.38. 

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. One of the top bats we saw on the day. Athletic mover with an efficient sequence and impressive bat speed (consistently above 70mph according to blast). Scorched balls from gap to gap in BP. Impressive round showing both pop and barrel accuracy.
Power: Potential for above average raw power.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Field: Corner profile. Plays with an aggressive tempo, serviceable ball skills.
Throw: Arm plays. More to come.
Defensive Projection: 3B.

Hit:Physical bat from the right side. Uses a leg kick timing trigger during back load to hands. Impressive raw physicality and bat speed combination. Jump was electric at times when he connected.
Power:Impressive jump for class.
Offensive Projection:Run producer.
Field:Worked out at third base. Plays low with a controlled tempo throughout sequence. Ball skills are serviceable.
Throw:Arm is an above average tool for class.
Defensive Projection:Corner guy.

2/23/20 Position Player
Hit: A physical presence at the plate, A balanced set up in the box looking to do damage. An uphill path toward the ball allowing for good backspin and lift on the baseball.
Power: Present power.
Top BP Exit Velocity: 97 mph.
Top BP Distance: 290 ft.
Offensive Projection: Run produces.
Field: Shows good reaction at 3B not afraid to stick his nose in one. Plays with good hands allowing the glove to work out in front of the
body.
Throw: 77 mph across the infield.
Defensive Projection: Corner. 

2/23/20 Pitching
Delivery Notes: Has the max effort reliever look. High leg kick with a quick arm to go along. Will gain more velocity once he uses his lower half more efficiently.
Fastball: Topping at 77 mph with arm side run and coming from a ¾ slot. 
Fastball Spin Rates: 1700-1900.
Curveball: Between 69-71 tight power breaking ball.
Curveball Spin Rates: N/A.
Changeup: 72-73 able to maintain arm speed and give the ball fading action at the end.

1/20/20 Position Player
Hit: Impressive round. Fluid mover with a physical stroke. Nice combination of burst and feel for contact. Ball jumped and he sprayed it around the yard.
Power: Easy gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Run Producer.

Field: At 3B he shows a quick, compact arm with average footwork and a slow transfer on his throws.

2/17/19 Pitching

Body Type: right-handed pitching prospect with an average build.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Compact delivery that has some rhythm. Slight pause during the stride but shows good direction. Works out of a high-3/4 slot.

Fastball: 73-76 mph fastball is mostly straight working on a downward plane.

Curveball: 61-65 mph curveball has a near 12/6 shape with developing depth.

Changeup: 65-66 mph changeup is thrown with near fastball arm speed and shows late sinking action near the zone.

Pitchability: Showed good feel for both secondary offerings. Breaking ball shows a little early at times but could develop into an above average offering. Fastball command needs to improve but he does create some angle on the pitch.

Role: At this stage he’s likely better suited for a role in the bullpen.

Body Type:

Swing Mechanics: At the plate he shows quick hands and starts with a leg kick for his load. Slightly casts his barrel.

Hit: Average bat to ball ability.

Power: 86 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Should at least be able to develop into a gap to gap threat offensively.

Field: 2.12-2.32 pop time. Behind the plate he shows decent feet and a quick exchange on his throws. Above average quickness to his arm.

Throw: 74 mph from behind the plate.

Run: 5.01 home to first.

Defensive Projection:  Defensively projects best behind the plate. Will need to work on improving his footwork and agility going forward.
