2/17/19

2/17/19

Body Type:  5-foot-10, 160 pounds. Thin build with room to add.

Swing Mechanics: Hits out of a narrow stance in the box with a shorter, compact swing and an uphill path.

Hit: Hard contact created on several pitches in his round. Drove the baseball through the middle often.

Power: 83 mph exit velocity. More potential.

Offensive Projection: Multiple roles.

Run: 7.77 seconds 60-yard.
Field: As an infielder he fielded the baseball well showing his glovework. Footwork is progressing in speed. Third base looks to be a good fit for him as he moves on.

Throw: 75 mph across the diamond with accuracy.
Defensive Projection: Third base.

2/17/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160-pound athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Right-hander with a compact, quick arm through a near ¾ slot. Athletic actions on the mound with a delivery that requires some effort.
Fastball: 77-79 mph. Fastball has some natural running action to it. A guy that should be a candidate for a velo jump.
Curveball: 63-66 mph. 11/5 shaped breaking ball with signs of sharpness. Above average offering for class.

Knuckle: 62-65 mph. Good feel for the pitch that dances through the zone.
Changeup: 68-70 mph. Looked comfortable with the offering that has good arm speed to it.
Pitchability: Good feel for his four pitch mix, consistently being in the zone with all offerings.
Additional Comments: Good athlete with pitchability.

1/26/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160-pound, average, athletic frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: He has good pace and tempo on the mound. Mechanically, his body is in sync. He is fluid throughout his delivery and has a loose short armed ¾ slot.
Fastball: FB is quick and has little run towards LHH. 76-79 mph.
Curveball: CB has small sharp 11/5 break/ 65-68 mph.
Changeup: CH has run towards RHH with little depth. 66-67 mph.
Pitchability: Good command of his pitches, stays close to the strike zone.
Role: Reliever.
Additional Comments: He utilizes his athleticism when he pitches and has command of his pitches.

1/26/19
Body Type: 5-foot-10, 160-pound, average, athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Tall stance from the right side of the box. Goes with a leg kick for timing while showing minimal back load to hands.
Hit: Whippy swing on a slightly downhill path. Handsy hitter with feel for contact. Would see more natural pop by leveling out stroke.
Power: 80 mph exit velocity. Line drive guy with gap abilities. Tools are there to hit and stroke offers a balanced combination of strength and speed.
Offensive Projection:
Run: 4.6 H-1st.
Field: Smooth defender with above average ball skills. Well coached with the ability to create angles with his feet.
Throw: 80 mph arm strength across the diamond. Accurate arm with solid strength.
Defensive Projection: 3B/2B

1/21/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-10 160 pound prospect with a average frame.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a ¾ arm slot with a somewhat violent finish to his delivery.

Fastball: 75-77 mph fastball showed some degree of late life through the zone.

Curveball: 64-66 mph breaking ball showed decent spin and solid depth.

Changeup: 65-67 mph changeup showed decent sink and fade to the arm side. Command was particularly good to the arm side.

Pitchability: Good command of both his fastball and changeup to the arm side and the breaking ball was a pitch he could use to steal strikes.

Role: Fastball/changeup combo with solid command, along with a breaking ball to throw for strikes would probably give him the opportunity to start at the high school level. Overall level of ‘stuff’ would need to improve to start at the next level.

1/21/19

Body Type: 5-foot-10 160 pound prospect with a average frame.

Swing Mechanics: Tall stance with a leg kick to get lower half going. Hands stay quiet through load and into launch.

Hit: Front foot launch on a slightly downhill path. Line drive guy that can use both gaps. Definitely has some tools to work with. Fast bat with some strength at contact.

Power: 77 mph exit velocity. Line drive guy with gap abilities.

Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.

Run: 7.49 60-yard dash.

Field: Feet work well. Plays with rhythm and has the ability to create angles.

Throw: High-¾ slot with clean arm action. Showed 78 mph strength across the diamond.

2/18/18
5-foot-10, 160 pound prospect has a small build that’s backed by great intent with every action performed. Peer displayed good glovework prior to a quick release of the ball on target with above average arm strength at 73 mph. His feet moved quick and took efficient angles getting to the ball allowing him to get his feet set and aligned to making good throws for each attempt. Energetic and motivated player. At the plate he starts in an athletic setup before using a leg kick to initiate pre launch movements. Hands stay simple prior to launch. Hands are quick and accelerate barrel through the zone on a level plane with some loft at times. Hands show both strength and twitch at times. Consistently sprayed line drives to the middle of the field.  On the mound the right hander has an average tempo delivery. Releases the ball from a ¾ slot and stays directionally towards the plate through release. Fastball shows cut action at time at 70-75 mph. Commanded his fastball well hitting his targets. Breaking ball spins on an 11-5 tilt at 59-60 mph. Changeup comes in with slight downward break. Tends to slow his arm speed on the offering.
60-yard dash: 7.91
Infield Velocity: 73
Exit Velocity: 80

2/4/18

5-foot-10, 160 pound infield prospect showed good glovework while fielding as he did an excellent job coming through the ball to gain momentum towards first base. His footwork was good getting around the ball well setting himself up for strong throws across the diamond at 71 mph. Offensively, Peer swings it from the right side with a level bat path getting on plane with pitches well. His front side was stiff causing some prevention of him full rotating through the ball which limits his power output. He recorded an 81 mph exit velocity that can enhanced if his swing becomes more fluid. Good abilities and plenty of time to develop from this young athlete.

1/20/18

5-foot-11, 160-pound right hander showed some good arm action while having a higher ¾ arm slot. His fastball sat 71-73 while topping out at 75 a few times. Peer mechanically looked good as he did a nice job staying balanced and keeping his weight back during his delivery. There were a few pitches that he didn’t follow through on his finish which caused some pitches to be left up but that wasn’t a big issue. His curveball was 57-62 with good break, but he could break on it by speeding his arm up and pulling it down harder. His performance was good; however, his abilities can improve when his tempo remains consistent. At times, he seemed to rush through his motion which threw off his accuracy. Needs to create a rhythm and stick to it to get effective results. A right-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Uses a fluid leg lift to get things going while keeping hands simpel prior to launch. Swing is compact while working on a mostly level path. Showed barrel feel to the middle of the field with the ability to create backspin. A contact type guy presently with more to come. Produced regular line drives to the middle of the field. In the infield he plays low and under control prior to fielding. Feet are quick and create adequate angles. Ball skills are above average for class. Profiles best at second base at this stage.

60-yard Dash: 8.1
Infield Velocity: 73
Exit Velocity: 78

1/27/18

5-foot-10, 160 pound second basemen put on one of the better fielding performances at the event. Peer puts great effort into getting after baseball with fluid glovework. His feet move well getting him into great fielding positions to throw across the diamond at 77 mph. He can improve some throws by staying down longer as some he came straight up prior to throwing. Athletic body that will continue to get stronger for the next couple years. Hitting he had fast hands with a level swing that made good contact with a couple barrels. With an exit velocity of 74, he can improve that with creating greater separation, firing the lower half more and generating positive energy towards the pitcher.

1/15/18

On the mound the right-hander has slower paced tempo that requires some effort. Goes with a waist high leg lift prior to his load. Lands slightly closed at footstrike with his momentum carrying him towards home plate as he finishes. Arm moves through a high-¾ slot with developing arm speed. Fastball stays mostly true through the zone, sitting 69-71 mph. Spins a tight, 11/5 shaped breaking ball at 58-60 mph. Looked comfortable with the offering and likely is his go to secondary weapon. Also displayed feel for a changeup that had some late arm side life to it at 62-64 mph. A strike thrower in general who has feel for his three-pitch mix. A right-handed hitter that starts in a taller setup. Goes with a toe turn load during his back load with his hands. Barrel launches from a strong position and travels on a level plane to the baseball. Squared the ball up regularly in BP, with a line drive stroke. A contact type guy at this stage who can use the entire field. Recorded an exit velocity of 74 mph. In the infield he plays low and under control prior to fielding. Hands are soft and he does a nice job fielding the baseball out in front of his body. Cuts down distance prior to throws, showing accuracy across the diamond. Profiles as a second baseman at the next level. Ran an 8.19 60-yard dash and threw with 69 mph arm strength across the infield.

6/14/17
5-foot-9, 155-pound projectable body frame. The infielder has a tendency to pause his footwork when ground balls are hit at him, and would benefit from continuing his footwork while playing through the baseball. Throws with a clean, short arm action through a ¾ slot while reaching a velocity of 67 mph across the infield. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall setup. Barrel gets vertical during his short stride forward. Stays very smooth prior to launch. Does a nice job of getting on plane and creating early bat speed. Contact type guy that showed feel for the barrel. Up tempo delivery that requires some effort. Short, quick arm action coming thru a high ¾ slot. Fastball ranged from 68-70 mph. Will benefit from getting physically stronger. Showed a good feel for his curveball that breaks in a near 12/6 shape at55-57 mph. Was able to consistently throw for strikes. Changeup mixed in at 61-62 mph.
60-yard Dash: 8.4
Infield Velocity: 67
Exit Velocity: 76
