A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Matthew Rehmert: OF/RHP, (2022) Wayne, OH. 5-foot-11, 220-pound. During batting practice, Rehmert clocked an exit velocity of 88 mph. (68.3 mph bat speed average). (19.6 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced open stance with a quick compact load, then used a small leg kick controlled. Bat speed was flashed above average, displayed an upward short swing plane and level good extension on his finish. From the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 74 mph; showed a clean natural exchange, in control athletic feet, and soft hands. Uses his glove out front one hand. On the mound, showed developing arm speed with a compact arm action and an over-the-top arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher who shows some effort. Changeup (69-71 mph). Produced a fastball that came in at 73-75 mph. Had running action. (Max spin 1859; Avg 1805). Has tight action on his 11/5 sharp curveball (67-69). (Max spin 1942; Avg 1853).

Hit: Balanced setup from the right side. Very smooth, athletic loading sequence that leads to a balanced launch. Higher bat speed guy with physicality behind stroke. When he connects the ball jumps. Power: Flashed gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Middle of lineup. Field: Fluid actions with an athletic play through and ball skills on ahead of the curve for class. Throw: Over the top righty with average strength at present. Defensive Projection:
Delivery/Scouting Notes: Physical presence on the mound. High-3/4 righty with compact arm action. Tall/fall type guy that lands on line at foot strike with a slight first baseline finish. Fastball: Regular run/dive to it with near 20inches of induced vertical break. Breaking Ball: Developing offering with more spin than action at this stage. Changeup: Similar pitch to fastball with added sink. Good sell. Pitchability: Strike thrower for the most part.

1/20/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Uptempo delivery that requires little effort. Ball comes out smoothly/easy through a hig-3/4 slot. More to come. Fastball: Generates easier velocity. Sat in the low 70s throughout. Occasional cut. Fastball Spin Rate: 1400-1600 Curveball: Tight breaker that has some drop to it. Lived low in the zone with the offering. 62-64 mph. Curveball Spin Rate: 1200-1400 Changeup: Pitchability: In/out of the zone.
1/21/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-10 170-pound prospect.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Threw from a ¾ arm slot with an overall slow, methodical delivery.
Fastball: 70-74 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone but did show some arm side run at times.
Breaking Ball: 59-61 mph breaking ball showed slider spin with minimal action. Shows potential to develop into a better pitch when thrown more aggressively.
Changeup: 64-65 mph changeup was mostly true through the zone.
Pitchability: Pretty good feel for his three pitch mix. Maintained good arm speed on his changeup. Would benefit from keeping arm speed on his slider to create a sharper action on the pitch.
Role: Presently shows a solid three pitch mix for a 2022 grad. All his pitches show potential to improve down the line. At the moment shows more as a bullpen arm but as he develops physically and refines his skills being a starter is something that may open up.
1/21/19 Body Type: 5-foot-10 170-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance with an easy back load to hands during his leg lift.
Hit: Lower effort swing with an uphill trajectory. Can get a bit to steep at times, causing inconsistencies in barrel accuracy. Would be aided by leveling out path to let his natural tools show. Very comparable offering of strength and speed to hands. Ball comes off well when squared.
Power: 73 mph exit velocity. Much more to come.
Offensive Projection: Ball Mover.
Run: 7.49 60-yard dash.
Field: in the outfield he has fluidity to his actions, maintaining control too and through. Ball skills are developing.
Throw: 77 mph arm strength to home plate. Loose arm that projects to add strength.
Defensive Projection: TBD.
