A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

2/16/20 Position Player Hit: Physical presence in the box from the right side. Starts and stays in a balanced state throughout loading sequence. Like the movements/looks under control. Slightly downhill path that stays inside the baseball regularly. Mostly middle-back approach in BP, with a bit more strength than speed to stroke. Power: Top rapsodo exit velocity was 87.1 mph in BP, while top rapsodo distance registered at 202 feet. Much more distance presently available if he can add loft to swing. Offensive Projection: Middle ceiling. Field: Good athlete over at first base. Moves off the bat with above average lateral mobility. Ball skills are ahead of the curve at the position. Likely would grade out as a guy who’s primary position would be first base but also showed a solid skill set in the outfield and at the hot corner. Classic corner guy who can play multiple spots based on team need. Throw: 61 mph arm strength across the infield and 73 mph arm strength to home plate from the outfield. Defensive Projection: Corner guy.
2/16/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Works with a smoother tempo to a delivery that doesn’t require much effort. Creates solid direction down the mound. ¾ righty with developing speed/strength to arm. Young righty with more to come as he matures physically. Fastball: Topped 70 mph, more in the tank, occasion run/sink. Curveball: Maintains arm speed, 11/5 look to it, gradual action, 59-61 mph.
