Scouting Notes: Another impressive outing. Good athlete with obvious arm speed. Everything works well. Comes right at hitters with the heater and when he does spin it, he tosses a quality breaking ball.
Fastball: 83-88mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1639-1875
Breaking Ball: 71-72mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1730-1753
Hit: Lefty swinger that starts in a balanced stance. Smooth loading sequence that leads to a balanced launch. Balanced natural tools inside a compact stroke. Found the barrel often in BP. All fields approach.
Power: Line drive pop.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles
Max BP Exit Velocity: 88 mph
Max BP Distance: 271 ft
Field: Good athlete in the outfield. Moves with quick feet and fluid actions. Ball skills are well above average. Guy who can play both infield/outfield at an above average clip.
Throw: Arm is a well above average tool
Defensive Projection: Multiple Spots.
6/16/20 Pitching
Scouting Notes:After standing out as a position player Pennington hopped on the mound and showed he's a legitimate two-way option at the next level. Works with good pace to his athletic delivery. Throws with intent while still having an easier look to him. Arm works well, showing a mid 80s fastball that we saw up to 87 mph for the second time in 2020 as he was a winter standout as well. Three-pitch righty with more than serviceable secondary stuff to pair with the heater. Filled up the zone with all three.Talented guy who does a lot of things well on the baseball field.

Hit: Lefty hitter with a smooth athletic stroke with one of the fastest bat speeds i’ve seen.
Power: 83mph exit velo with a max distance of 283 feet.
Offensive Projection: Contact hitter that works pull side.
Field: Athletic in the field showing he’s a solid defender with the ground he can cover and glove he can flash.
Throw: 86mph infield velo and 90 mph outfield velo.
Defensive Projection: Utility.
Delivery Notes: A mechanically sound delivery with max effort. A high ¾ arm action that is explosive but needs to be more consistent in
the zone.
Fastball: 85-87mph with a 1600-1800rpm spin rate on Rapsodo with slight arm side movement.
Curveball: 68-69mph with a 1900-2100rpm spin rate on Rapsodo with 10-4 movement.
Changeup: 74-75mph, late fading action.
