Body Type: 6-foot-6 210-pound Lengthy frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Long smooth arm action. Uses lower half but could be more efficient. Fastball: 78-81mph. Hard fastball. Average 2,000rpm spin rate. Curveball: 70-72mph. 11/5 movement. Average offering. Pitchability: In the zone most of the time. Additional Comments: Good frame to develop.
2/26/18
Defensively, hands are adequate. There is tendency to work top down and play the ball deep. Feet work well around the bag and length plays at first base.Offensively, 6-foot-6, right-handed hitter initiates swing from neutral set up with knee to knee leg kick and stride to neutral. Utilizes a bat tip in load and slots hands low. Weight shift and hip turn are aggressive. Bat tip and hand action in load created intermittent difficulty being on time on this day. A bat exit velocity of 86 mph was registered. On the mound, the right-hander works out of a mid 3/4 arm slot with balanced, repeatable, low effort delivery. Long levers create interesting angles. Fastball sat 83-84 and touched 85 mph while being commanded with moderate arm side run. Curveball at 66-69 mph was thrown from slightly lower arm slot demonstrating 11/4 shape, slider like action and limited tilt. Fox did not throw a straight change but did feature a split change att 66-69 mph having considerable arm side run and sink. Overall, presents as an arm to follow in the Class of 2020.
