Keelan Daniel: OF/3B, (2022) Moeller, OH. 5-foot-10, 170-pound. During batting practice, Daniel had an exit velocity of 88 mph. (60.11 mph bat speed average). (17.92 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Has flashed quick bat speed, simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 82 mph; has soft hands, a fluid exchange, and quick consistent feet. Fielded the ball out front with athletic movement laterally. Had a loose arm action and a high ¾ slot. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.97.  (Max spin ; Avg ). 

Obvious athleticism in the box. Smooth mover with the ability to barrel balls from both sides of the plate. Quality showing, taking one off a billboard over the wall from the left side. We've seen him catch barrel after barrel this summer in game as well. Really turned it on in the last few games, including a three hit game against West Virginia. Smooth mover in the outfield with enough arm strength to play multiple spots.

Starts in an open athletic stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a leg kick. Bat speed was quick, and showed a level swing plane. Found multiple barrels with some loud contact. Line drive approach. Solid in the outfield, his throws to the bases were maxed out at 78 mph; showed soft hands, a natural exchange, and athletic feet. Out front fielding mechanics. During the event, ran the 60-yard dash in 7.25.

Began in an open athletic stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Bat speed was quick, had an upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. 

Hit: Switch hitter. From the right side he uses a smooth, athletic load that comes together well. Natural whip with the ability to stay inside the ball. Swing plays. Continues to add burst everytime we see him. From the left he has similar moves, maintaining natural tools. Looks to be a true switch. Feel hitter that's just going to continue to get better. Turned on an 86 mph fastball in game for a knock. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Multiple roles. Max BP Exit Velocity: R-88 mph/L-88 mph Max BP Distance: R-284 ft/L- 280 ft Field: Very smooth, athletic movement patterns in the outfield. Looks the part. Sure-handed. Throw: Clean arm. Developing strength. Defensive Projection:TBD on how arm develops.

2/22/20 Position Player
Hit: Switch hitter with an athletic easy swing with almost identical mechanics from both sides. Hits with intention.
Power: Right: 89mph exit velo with a max distance of 293 feet. Left:85 mph exit velo with a max distance of 282 feet.
Offensive Projection: Leadoff hitter with power.
Field: Solid defender from the outfield showing fluid consistent footwork. Infield shows quick footwork with good glove skill.
Throw: 81mph infield velo.
Defensive Projection: Utility guy.

Body Type:  5-foot-9, 160-pound thin frame.
Swing Mechanics:  Efficient and athletic stroke from the left side.  Very smooth load from the right side.
Hit: Swing plays with level bat path from the left side.  Goes go all fields from the right side.
Power:  Very efficient with some jump. Just needs to develop and add more size.
Offensive Projection:  TBD
Field: Very fluid actions with above average ball skills. Looks the part too and through.
Throw: Clean arm action with more strength to come. Arm will need to continue to develop.
Defensive Projection: CF/LF. 

Body Type: 5-foot-9, 160-pound prospect with an athletic frame.
Swing Mechanics: Legit switch guy with a similar look from both sides. Very smooth mover with athletic actions. Looks the part in the box.
Hit: Feel hitter that can spray it all over the yard from both sides of the plate. His advanced feel for contact, combined with a path that finds plane early allow him to make consistent flush contact.
Power: Line drive guy now with much more to come. 83 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Run: 4.61 H-1st.
Field: Athleticism shows in the outfield. Plays fast without compromising control and shows above average ball skills through fielding.
Throw: Arm is still developing.
Defensive Projection: TBD. Could see him at multiple spots depending on how arm comes along.
Additional Comments: Young prospect that is a good athlete and does everything smoothly on the baseball field. Hit tool is advanced for class, looking the part in BP and recording 3 hits during game play. High follow.

2/17/19 Position

Body Type: 5-foot-9 160-pound prospect.

Swing Mechanics: Switch hitter. From the right side he lunges forward during his load with an armbar. Still showed strong hands. From the left side he shows a similar swing but its longer and slower.
Hit: Strong hands and barrel control from both sides of the plate.

Power: R: 73 mph exit velocity. L: 69 mph exit velocity.

Offensive Projection: Swing shows some potential, but it is concerning that his swing and raw power is worse from the left side considering switch hitters will be taking a majority of their swings from the left side.

Field: In the outfield he attacks the ball but doesn’t play through it particularly well. At 3B he takes mostly good angles through the ball but does wait a bit too much. Shows an average release and footwork.

Throw: 63 mph across the diamond. 67 mph from the outfield.
Run: 4.66 home to first.

Defensive Projection: Shows better skills and fundamentals in the infield than the outfield. How he develops physically will determine if infield is an option at the next level. 

2/17/18

A switch hitter at the plate. From the right side he shows a bat tip load during his leg kick timing trigger. Loading sequence is efficient, with well timed movements. Posseses impressive barrel feel for class, consistently squaring balls up in BP. From the left side he has a similar lowe half with a more flatter barrel at trigger. Maintains feel and natural tools. Creates solid barrel direction, showing a smooth line drive swing. Consistently produced line drives to the middle of the field. Has more twitch than most for his class and ball comes off well. A bat to follow as he adds strength with maturity. True switch hitter. In the outfield he is fluid and mechanically sound. Hands are soft and he shows well above average ball skills for age. Arm strength is developing. Plays with center fielder type feel. How arm progresses will likely determine future destination. At third base he plays low with fluid footwork. Hands are soft and glove is reliable. Arm is accurate with developing strength. Maintains rhythm and ball skills on the move.
