Karl Ferber Jr.: 1B/3B, (2023) South Central, OH. 6-foot-4, 200-pound. At the plate, Ferber jr. had an exit velocity of 93 mph. (72.5 mph bat speed average). (23.6 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled small leg kick. Bat speed is quick, uses a simple uphill swing plane and balanced finish. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 83 mph; showed a natural exchange, consistent feet, and sure hands. Laterally, movements were athletic and fielded the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot with a quick arm action. In the 60-yard dash, he clocked a time of 7.12.
Karl Ferber Jr.: 1B/3B, (2023) South Central High School, OH. 6-foot-3, 198-pound. In the box, Ferber jr. had an exit velocity of 90 mph. Compact stroke with above average bat speed. Path is efficient/allows for all field capabilities. Solid in the infield, displayed a velocity of 80 mph; shows sure hands, and smooth feet. Showed a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.37.
Karl Ferber Jr.: 1B/3B, (2023) Greenwich South Central, OH. 6-foot-3, 200-pound physical frame. At the plate, the left-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 90 mph. Begins in an athletic open stance with a smooth load, then uses a controlled stride. Has explosive bat speed, upward swing plane and high finish. Smooth while in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 76 mph; had rhythmic footwork, soft hands, and a fluid exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Had a high ¾ slot and a quick arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.55 at the event.
Hit:Very physical bat for being a 2023. Lefty stroke that fights to stay inside the baseball. Generates low line drive to ground ball flight throughout round. All the physical tools to do damage are present.
Power:Potential for power as he adds loft to stroke.
Offensive Projection:Middle ceiling.
Field:First baseman with above average lateral mobility for the position. Well coached over there with feel for his feet. Ball skills are serviceable.
Throw:Arm plays at the spot.
Defensive Projection:1B.
2/2/20 Position Player
Hit:Lefty bat with an athletic look to him in the box. Moves well with fluid actions prior to launch. Very physical for class. Can get around the ball at times but showed the ability to backspin it well when stays inside. Intriguing young bat to follow.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection:Run producer traits.
Field: Above average athleticism for the first base position. Ball skills are on par for class.
Throw: 3/4 righty with slinging action and more strength to come.
