Joshua Kross: C/3B, (2021) Brunswick, OH. Toledo Commit, 6-foot-2, 200-pound. At the plate, the switch hitter had a max exit velocity of 99 mph. Starts in an athletic balanced stance with a compact load, then uses a controlled stride. Has electric bat speed, upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, had a live arm with throws that topped out at 85 mph; had consistent rhythmic footwork, sure hands, and a quick exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Behind the plate, he made strong throws to second and produced an efficient position velocity of 80 mph; has a clean exchange, athletic feet, and soft hands. Displayed next-level catching ability by boasting a 1.90-1.94 pop time. A lot of flexibility and calm setup. Used a quick arm action with a high ¾ slot. In the 60-yard dash, his time was 7.0.
Hit: Switch hitter. Easy pop from both sides of the plate with an impressive combination of burst and feel. True switch guy who will live mid 90s from both and get into the upper 90s.
Power: Legit jump.
Offensive Projection: Run producer.
Max BP Exit Velocity: L: 99 mph./R: 100mph.
Max BP Distance: L: 338ft./R: 356ft.
Field: Stood out in all facets, including behind the dish. Above average skill set across the board.
Throw: Above average strength.
Defensive Projection: C.
Hit:Switch hitter. From the right side he starts in an upright setup with a smooth loading sequence. Aggressive stroke with an efficient path. No doubting the strength and bat speed combo here. Ball jumps when squared. From the left side he has similar movements and maintains his natural tools. Very similar exit velos from both. Looks to be a true switch.
Power:Legitimate juice here. Can leave the yard presently.

Field: Arguably the top backstop we saw at the event. Well above average skill set across the baord. Talented defender who stood out in all aspects.
Throw: Well above average strength.
Defensive Projection: C.
Body Type: 6-foot-2, 210-pound physical frame.
Swing Mechanics: Switch hitter. Very similar movements to loading sequence from both sides of the plate. Movements are smooth and sync well.
Hit: Mostly level path to contact. Physical swing with above average bat speed. Ball jumped off barrel in BP. Pull side tendencies. Almost left the yard a few times to left. Looks to be a true switch, maintaining natural tools from both sides of the plate.
Power: 95.6 mph off the bat in BP. Ball jumps, easy gap abilities. Slightly higher BP exit velocities from right side but not by a ton.
Offensive Projection: Middle of the lineup.
Run: 7.55 60-yard dash.
Field: Solid showing behind the dish. Above average catch/throw guy with respectable receiving/blocking abilities.
Throw: Arm is a well above average tool back there.
Defensive Projection: C/CIF.
Additional Comments: Good first impression for Kross. Switch hitting catcher who can really drive the baseball.
