2/11/18
A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Barrel flows through a bat tip movement during his short stride forward. Path shows natural loft with above average natural tools through the zone. Stays inside the baseball well and can backspin the ball to either gap. In the infield he is mechanically sound and plays low through the baseball. Actions are smooth and glove works well. Arm has room to improve but with his quick transfer it still plays up the middle. A solid player with a definite college future.
60-yard dash: 7.1
Infield Velocity: 76
Exit Velocity: 85
5-foot-9, 145-pound thin build. At the plate he starts with a wide stance. Uses a toe-turn load as a timing mechanism. Gets good separation with his upper body on the load as well. Transfers his weight well. Swings on an even plane through the zone. Registered a top exit velocity of 64 mph. In the infield, he fields the ball out in front of his body. Gains good momentum toward first base as he throws. Throws with a high ¾ slot with 75 mph arm strength across the diamond. Ran a 4.64 from home to first base. On the mound he shows choppy rhythm in the delivery. Comes to a balance point while rotating slightly at the top of his leg kick. Lands open at foot strike while throwing from a high ¾ slot. Fastball sits 70-74 mph. Curveball sits 63-64 mph. Changeup sits 64-68 mph.
6/23/15
Young looking, 5-foot-10, 140-pound body frame, with lots of room to fill out with. From the infield he uses good footwork to approach ground balls, playing through the baseball. He fields with his hands out in front nicely. Throws using a clean, short arm action coming from a ¾ slot with 66 mph arm strength across the infield. Right-handed hitter starts from a balanced stance and uses a fluid hands back load. He swings with a flatter bat path through the zone, finishing with a two-handed follow through. He reached a top exit velocity of 75 mph and ran a 4.43 out of the batter’s box, down the line to first base. From the mound he uses simple, repeatable mechanics in a slow paced delivery, that doesn’t require much effort. He lands in a straight line at foot strike. He throws with a clean arm action, using average arm speed, coming from a ¾ slot. His fastball was between 69-72 mph. Threw a slider with some tight, sinking movement at 59-60 mph. Also threw a changeup using fastball arm speed at 63-65 mph with some tail to the pitch.
