Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
Body Type: 6-foot 205-pound prospect. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a high ¾ arm slot with a quick arm. Shows some drop and drive tendencies. Fastball: 77-81 mph fastball on a downward plane that showed some sink and fade at times. Slider: 64-68 mph breaking ball showed slider shape and spin. Somewhat ‘popped out’ the hand making it easier to distinguish from the fastball. Changeup: 74-76 mph changeup that was pretty true through the zone, but he maintained arm speed well to create some deception. Pitchability: Solid 3 pitch mix with good command of all 3. Would benefit from keeping arm speed up on the slider to minimize the ability to distinguish it from his other pitches. Role: Slider showed good potential of becoming an above average pitch with some refinement. Being a lefty with the potential of a good slider as his best pitch probably will push into a bullpen role at the next level.

Body Type: 6-foot 205-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Starts in a balanced setup with a slightly open stance. Uses a mini leg kick/front hip hinge to initiate his load. Showed a downhill bat path. Hit: Good barrel control and bat to ball ability. Power: 89 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Showed some good qualities at the plate. Present swing would potentially limit some of his gap to gap potential. Field: At 1B he showed solid feel around the bag with decent footwork. He took good angles to the ball and showed good hands with a quick arm. Run: 7.44 60 yard dash. Defensive Projection: Checks the boxes to be able to play 1B at the next level.
