Talented, two-way prospect to follow. Very smooth, athletic mover in the box. Load creates both energy and balance. Offers well above average bat speed with solid strength through contact. That combination led to consistent exit velocities over 90mph and top of 96mph. Efficient path allows for all field flight. Versatile defender that showed well both behind the dish and in the outfield. We will start with the arm that projects to be an impressive tool down the road. Loose/clean arm actions that will easily add strength. Behind the dish he looked to have feel with the ability to receive at an above average clip. In the outfield he showed ball skills capable of profiling in multiple positions. Also hopped on the mound, showing qualities to like there as well. Athleticism translates, arm is quick and showed the same velocity projection as he did as a position player. Fastball is live, breaking ball is sharp and changeup appears to be a more than serviceable offering. High follow on both side of the ball.
2/16/20
2/16/20 Position Player Hit: Physical presence in the box from the right side. Smooth leg kick timing trigger during slight back load to hands, above average combination of strength and speed through the zone on a very efficient path. Swing works and ball comes off well. Power: 82 mph exit velocity off the tee, a bit louder than that in BP flashing gap abilities, with swing efficiency he should project for more. Offensive Projection: Middle potential. Field: Corner infielder with frame and skill set for the position. Moves with smoother actions and plays with ball skills on par for class. Popped between 2.22-2.31, showed flexibility to hips, good direction with lower half, exchange skills are on par for class. Throw: 62 mph from the crouch, 78 mph from the infield, will throw from multiple angles on the move, high-¾ looks to be natural slot. Defensive Projection: 2/16/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: High-¾ right-hander with a drop/drive loading sequence down the mound. Slight pause before in the back acceleration phase of arm stroke. Creates solid direction / energy with lower half. Everything comes together pretty well. Fastball: 70-74 mph, mostly true through the zone, more mphs to come down the road. Breaking Ball: 55-58 mph, 11/5 shape, gradual action, pops out of the hand. Changeup: 62-63 mph, near fastball arm speed, average sell, some dive to it.
