(19.9 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic quiet stance with a controlled load, then used a small leg kick. Has quick bat speed, simple upward swing plane and high finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 81 mph; has a natural exchange, firm hands, and consistent feet. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Used a loose arm action with a high ¾ slot. Recorded a time of 7.3 in the 60-yard dash.

Starts in a balanced athletic stance with a controlled load, then uses a quick stride. Bat speed is quick, exhibits a simple upward swing plane and good extension on his finish. Solid in the infield, his position velocity was registered at 82 mph; has quick feet, consistent hands, and a natural exchange. Movements laterally were athletic and he fields the ball out front. Had a quick arm action and a high ¾ slot. Ran a 3.94 30 yard dash.

(19.4 mph hand speed average). Began in an athletic open stance with a smooth controlled load, then used a toe tap stride. Had a simple level swing plane, quick efficient bat speed and good extension on his finish. While in the infield, registered his best throw across the diamond at 75 mph; has soft sure hands, a fluid natural exchange, and smooth consistent feet. Glovework is shown deep. He ran a 3.93 30 yard dash.

Jay Tomes: SS/2B, (2023) Westerville Central, OH. 6-foot, 170-pound. Athletic in the box, Tomes clocked an exit velocity of 84 mph. (65.96 mph bat speed average). (18.89 mph hand speed average). Started in a balanced athletic stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled small leg kick. Had above average bat speed, short simple swing plane and good extension on his finish. He barreled up multiple balls during the round. Gap to gap approach. Solid while in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 79 mph; has average athletic feet, soft hands, and a clean fluid exchange. Out front fielding mechanics. Recorded a 60 time of 7.18 at the event.  

Hit:Right-handed hitter that begins in an athletic, slightly open stance. Simple, smooth loading sequence. Utilizes a subtle toe tap for timing, to go along with a short stride upon launch. Movements are controlled, with natural whip to swing. Will continue to improve as he develops physically.

Field:Worked out from the SS position. Respectable movements in the field, with solid footwork. Ball skills are on par for class.
Throw: Clean arm action with more to come as he physically develops

Hit:Right-handed hitter that starts in an athletic setup. Goes with a smooth knee pinch movement during slight back load to hands. Aggressive swinger with natural whip to storke. Solid round with pull side pop/a ton of barrels. Impressive hit tool that's only going to get better as he adds physicality.
Power:Ball jumps. Well above average jump for class.
Offensive Projection:Run producer ceiling.

Field:An infield with quickness to his feet and respectable ball skills. Very quick transfer on double plays. Solid defender who made all the plays in his evaluation.
Throw:Clean arm with more strength. Multiple arm angles.

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 150-pound thin frame.
Swing Mechanics: Open stance with a smooth load into his back leg while keeping his hand sloaded.
Hit:  Uphill bat path with a pull side approach. Quicker than he is strong.
Power: Line drive guy right now with more to come.
Offensive Projection:  TBD.
Field: Moves light on his feet in the infield playing with an uptempo pace throughout. Above average ball skills for class.
Throw: Quick transfer with an easy release. More strength to come with matuirty.
Defensive Projection: MIF.

A right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced setup. Goes with a slight back load with hands during his toe turn timing mechanism. Swing is compact as the bat travels on a slightly uphill bath to contact. Displayed feel for the barrel inside his line drive swing. Produced his most natural ball flight to the middle of the field. In the infield he is mechanically sound with fluidity to his actions. Creates angles to play through the baseball and shows above average ball skills through fielding.
