8/1/17 A talented right-handed pitching prospect. Delivery is smooth, requiring some effort. Uses a chest high leg lift prior to his stride. Tall and fall type guy. Arm works well through a high-¾ slot. Ball jumps out of his hand well and fastball is heavy. The pitch also showed late cut at times. Breaking ball is sharp and has some depth to it. Spins the offering on an 11/5 plane. Really impressed with his pitchability. Threw both pitches with confidence and intent. Used the fastball to get ahead and the breaker to put guys away. FB: 80-85 CB: 67-71 CH: 76-77
6/6/17 A right-handed pitching prospect in the 2018 class. Delivery has a slower pace to it and is repeatable. Arm has some quickness to it while working through a high-¾ slot. Works off his sinking fastball that sits 80-82 mph. Spins a tight, 11/5 shaped breaking at 66-70 mph. The pitch was sharp and produced consistent swing and missed. Also showed a changeup with some fade to it at 70-71 mph. Miller has solid pitchability, throwing all offerings for strikes.
1/29/17 6-foot, 183-pound prospect. Physical prospect, strong body with thick legs. Displayed a quick arm coming through a ¾ slot and a slow tempo delivery. The fastball was mostly straight, but showed impressive arm strength sitting 86-88 mph. On occasion he flashed a 2-seam with slight run at 84-85 mph. While he threw strikes with his secondary pitches he needs to improve arm speed on both. His slider showed tight spin and late break at 68-70 mph. Improve arm speed could make this a plus pitch for him in the future. As with his slider, arm speed needs to improve on his changeup. The pitch sat 68-70 mph with some sink to it. Starts in a wider setup at the plate. Barrel moves behind his head prior to launch. Uses a short stride for timing. Would be aided by adding rhythm to his loading sequence and more gather of his weight prior to transferring into contact. Has the natural tools to fit in a run producer role. Showed impressive pop to pull side. Defensively, he projects as a third baseman. Shows some anticipation. At times, has tendency to field flat footed with balls hit straight on. Good range to his glove side and shows ability to throw from lower slot. Has the arm to make the throw from the hole. Typically throws from ¾ slot with good arm strength. Top velocity of 80 mph across the infield.
