A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
6/6/16 6-foot, 200-pound projectable frame. Has an efficient lower half through a leg kick load and aggressive stride. Has more batspeed and strength than his 83 mph exit velocity would indicate. He gets very high with his hands which causes him to change his plane before contact. Would like to see him be looser or lower with the hands to free up that batspeed that’s definitely in there. Ran a 7.32 60-yard dash. A solid defender behind the plate with above average tools across the board. Pop times ranged from 1.97-2.02 and he threw with 77 mph arm strength to second base.
2/13/16 A very promising catching prospect with a strong build at 6-foot, 195-pounds. From behind the plate he shows good footwork and a quick transfer on his throws to second, he reached pop times between 1.92-1.97, while throwing with 76 mph velocity. In the box the righty starts in athletic, slightly open stance and uses a short stride to get back to even. During his stride he takes his hands back to stay balanced and takes a level path to the ball. A very strong kid that has some batspeed with an exit velocity of 84 mph. Would benefit from adding some rhythm to his loading sequence. Ran a 7.53 60-yard dash.
