A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+

2/16/20 Position Player Hit: Slightly crouched setup from the right side, simple load using a short stride for timing as hands move back to a strong launch position, balanced launch followed by a slightly downhill path, natural tools are balanced while projecting for more burst as he fills out his athletic frame. Sprayed it around the yard in BP. Power: 72 mph tee exit velocity, contact bat at present. Offensive Projection: TBD, much more physical projection left. Field: Versatile defender that worked out both in the infield and outfield, maintains fluid actions at both positions, ball skills are on par for class, labeled a utility guy that looks to be slightly more natural in the infield at this stage. Throw: 67 mph velocity across the infield and 70 mph to home plate, Defensive Projection: UTL.
2/16/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Fluid movement patterns on the mound, uses a chest high leg lift into a tall/fall type loading sequence down the mound, ball comes out easy through a ¾ slot, much like at the plate expect more burst as physical maturation takes its course. Fastball: 70-73 mph, occasional arm side action, easy velocity. Breaking Ball: 56-58 mph, slurvish look with big shape, get ahead type offering. Changeup: 65-69 mph, good sell, fastball look with added sink.
