Jackson Lux: RHP/3B, (2022) Loveland, OH. 6-foot-3, 175-pound. Projectable on the mound, showed good arm speed, also used a ¾ arm angle and a quick arm action. Up-tempo type pitcher and shows some effort. Has an athletic balance point and in line shoulders. Curveball (71-72 mph), changeup (74-75 mph). Sat with his fastball at 85-87 mph. One of the higher ceiling arms still left on the board in the state. Young, 2022 with obvious potential.

Jackson Lux: RHP/3B, (2022) Loveland, OH. 6-foot-3, 175-pound projectable frame. Above average on the mound, showing quick arm speed he had a ¾ arm angle with a loose arm action. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows easy effort. Has an athletic balance point. Produced a fastball that came in at 86-87 mph; showed running action and arm side control. Has plus action on his 11/5 curveball (73-74). Threw a 11/5 slider (70-71) with plus action.

Scouting Notes: One of the higher follows the 2022 class has to offer. Arm really works, generating a fastball that can get to the mid 80s. Showed feel for his secondary as well. What makes him even more intriguing is he isn't near his physical ceiling, sporting a frame that has endless projection left. Wouldn't be shocked at all if we are watching a 90mph arm before it's all said and done. Fastball: 83-85mph. Fastball Spin Rate: 1791-2015 Breaking Ball: 66-69mph. Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1693-1795

Hit: Right-handed hitter that starts in a balanced stance. Athletic, fluid movements that lead to a balanced launch. Everything works well and his bat tip gives him a running start into contact and natural whip through the zone. All field hitters. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Multiple roles. Max BP Exit Velocity: 80 mph Max BP Distance: 227 ft Field: Some fluidity to actions, can pick it a bit over there, overall controlled tempo. Throw: Arm is a well above average tool. Defensive Projection: 3B.

2/16/20 Position Player Hit: Fluid, athletic movements to loading sequence that create both energy and balance at foot strike. Loose stroke with natural whip through the zone. Path plays. Much more to come as he develops physically. Line drive ball flight in BP. Power: Top batting practice exit velocity was 74.4 and he reached a top batting practice distance of 256 feet. Offensive Projection: TBD. Field: Worked out at third base, showed feel for his feet with an idea of how to create angles, ball skills are ahead of the curve for class. Throw: Showed 78 mph arm strength across the infield. Defensive Projection: 3B.
2/16/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: The top arm we saw on the day. Uber athletic mover with a loose arm and easier delivery. Shows all the signs of more velocity to come. Going to be one of the more followed arms in his area at some point in his career. Fastball: 83-84 mph, high spin guy, late life, won’t shock me at all if he ends up being a higher velocity guy. Breaking Ball: Slider, 70-73 mph, very sharp, well above average pitch, present swing and miss. Changeup: 72-74 mph, more than playable third offering.
2/10/19
Body Type: 6-foot-2, 145 pounds. Taler, thin frame with room to fill. Swing Mechanics: Hits from a narrow, upright stance showing a shorter, level bat path through the zone. Gets to his attack position well and gets extended nicely for his age.
Hit: Contact guy overall that figures out ways to the ball in play to all fields with some barrel action.
Power: 72 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: TBD. Big, stronger frame with potential to be a power guy as he grows.
Run: 7.99 60-yard. Field: In the infield he displayed softer hands with average footwork. Actions at times could use more flow throughout the fielding process up to release. Will come as he gets older.
Throw: 73 mph across the diamond. There’s more left in that arm. Defensive Projection: TBD. Has a few years to develop as either a second baseman or shortstop.
2/10/19 Pitching
Body Type: Ideal pitcher’s frame at 6-foot-2. Plenty of room to fill out his skinny frame. Only weighs 145-pounds soaking wet.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Advanced for his age. Good tempo and repeatability. Tendency to land closed at times. Long arm action and comes through a high ¾ release.
Fastball: Velocity wasn’t overwhelming, but it came out easy. Started more 74-76 mph, and ended consistently at 77-78 mph.
Curveball: Advanced feel for breaking ball at his age. Good hand speed. Generates tight spin and two-plane action at 63-66 mph.
Changeup: Mostly straight at 65-68 mph. Stayed in the zone, but lacked effective movement.
Summary: Big time projectability. Velocity is going to come and the breaking ball is already a swing and miss pitch. Favorite arm of the day. Just a young, skinny, baby-faced kid. Once he starts maturing and developing physically, it won’t surprise me if he isn’t one of the top arms in the Cincinnati area by his junior or senior season.
