2/22/20 Position Player Hit: Athletic vertical stance with a closed off approach. Plus mechanics as everything translates well into swing. Ball flies off bat upon contact. Power: 95mph exit velo with a max distance of 330 feet. Offensive Projection: Line drive run producer with ability to hit one out. Field: Covers a good amount of range with comfortability with backhand and forehand. Does a good job staying in a low athletic position through the throw. Throw: 84mph infield velo. Body Type: 6-foot-2, 155-pound prospect with projectable frame. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Compact and efficient delivery that has some rhythm. Uses minimal effort working out of a short arm action and ¾ slot. Fastball: 80-84 mph fastball is easy out of the hand. Shows regular run to the arm side. Curveball: 70-71 mph curveball has a short 11/5 break and shows developing depth. Slider: 70-72 mph slider works on two planes with tight spin. Pitch tunnels with the fastball and has late bite. Changeup: 68-73 mph changeup has regular run and sinking action. Occasionally slowed the arm on the pitch. Pitchability: Offers a four pitch mix. Showed ability to land all of his pitches in the zone. Slider is the best secondary offering and looks to be a swing and miss pitch. Needs to get a little more consistent with the changeup but the pitch is playable. Role: Starter. Solid mix and good feel for all pitches. At least two are presently above average for age. Projectable frame and should add more velocity in the future.
Body Type: 6-foot-2 155-pound prospect. Swing Mechanics: Starts in an open, somewhat wide stance. Shows an on plane bat path with a pull tendency to his swing. HIt: Good barrel control. Power: 75 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Shows a pretty good ability to catch the barrel. His swing should translate well to a good line drive approach to all fields. Field: In the infield he shows smooth actions and instincts. Took decent angles to the ball with a quick arm. Throw: 74 mph across the diamond. Run: 4.93 home to first. Defensive Projection: Currently would seem to project best as a 2B at the next level. How he develops physically and adds arm strength could affect whether or not he could play SS at the next level.
