A good athlete with the size scouts are looking for. In the box he has a nice, level path with wiry strength through the zone. Bat speed also projects as an above average tool. High upside bat that has present gap abilities with power in there as he continues to fill out frame. IN the outfield he has above average ball skills and plays fast too/through the baseball. Arm strength will be area of improvement. Presently fits in left but if arm comes along he is functional enough for all three spots.
D1 follow. Big time frame and athleticism. Shows some rawness at the plate but the upside is obvious. His long levers allow him to really do damage when he gets extended. Batspeed is already a well above average tool with strength on its way. Can easily see him being a run producer as he fills out/matures. In the outfield he has a corner frame with the athleticism to play all three. Arm plays as an average to above average tool with much more in the tank.
An impressively built prospect at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. At the plate he starts in a wider setup before using a double tap load for timing and weight shift. A very strong kid that takes a nice, flat path to the ball. Above average batspeed. Ball came off his bat well in batting practice and he reached a top exit velocity of 76 mph. In the outfield he has aggressive footwork and plays through the bell well. Threw to home plate with 72 mph arm strength.
6/15/16
6-foot-2, 150-pound very athletic build. Ran a 4.5 from home to first. Advanced athletically for his age. At the plate he swing with obvious strength and batspeed. Ball comes off his bat well. Still has more in the tank once he learns to incorporate his lower half more efficiently. Reached a top exit velocity of 79 mph. In the outfield he has athletic footwork with the ability to play through the baseball. Arm will need to continue to improve with maturity. Also was impressive on the mound. Brings athleticism to the hill with above average arm speed. Fastball sat 76-79 mph with slight run. Spun an 1//5 breaking ball with good depth at 66-67 mph. Also mixed in a changeup near fastball armspeed.
3/19/16
A talented two-way prospect with a projectable frame at 6-foot-2, 160-pounds. On the mound the right-hander has a three-pitch mix in his arsenal, working through a high-¾ slot. A strik thrower. His fastball displayed slight run to it while sitting between 69-72 mph. Curveball has an 11/5 shape to it with gradual break at 55-57 mph. Also mixed in a changeup, near fastball armspeed at 60-61 mph. Balanced stance using a toe tap load while allowing the ball to travel deep into the zone. Crushed the ball with ease and registered an exit velocity of 84 mph. Mechanically advanced in the outfield with fluid, athletic actions. Threw to home plate with 75 mph arm strength and ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Very good player.
2/13/16 6-foot-2, 160-pound prospect with long, lanky frame for his age. Displayed a slow tempo to his delivery. Throws from high ¾ slot with short arm action generating a 71-74 mph straight fastball. Good arm action on his 65-68 mph changeup. Also mixed in a soft 61-63 mph breaking ball with gradual movement down in the zone. More to come as he gains physical strength and incorporates more use of his lower half. In the box he starts with a wide setup from the right side and uses a double tap load to initiate his lower half. With his upper half he goes with a bat tip load to generate good whip through the zone on a level path. Reached a top exit velocity of 72 mph. In the outfield he took good routes to the ball and was able to field it nicely on his glove foot side. Could get more out of his crow hop. From a high-¾ slot he threw with 75 mph arm strength to home plate. Ran a 7.41 60-yard dash.
