Hayden Boebel: OF/LHP, (2022) Medina, OH. 5-foot-11, 190-pound. Solid in the box, the left-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 96 mph. Began in an athletic balanced stance with a small controlled load, then used a leg kick. Bat speed was quick, had an upward swing plane and high finish. In his round he found some barrels. Fly ball approach. Solid his best position velocity in the outfield was registered at 78 mph; had soft hands, athletic choppy footwork, and a natural fluid exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.89.

At the plate, the left-handed hitter was ranked 1st with an exit velocity of 100 mph.Started in an athletic stance with a quick load, then used a controlled stride. Bat speed was explosive, displayed an upward swing plane and high finish. Advanced from the outfield, he showed the ability to throw at velocities up to 83 mph; has a quick exchange, sure hands, and athletic feet. Laterally, his movements were athletic. Showed an-over-the-top slot with a short arm action. Established speed as one of his strengths with an efficient 60 time of 6.69. Solid on the mound, showed a very quick arm action and a high ¾ arm angle with quick arm speed. Up-tempo type pitcher who shows high effort. Showed an athletic balance point. Curveball (63-67 mph), changeup (67-72 mph).Produced a fastball that came in at 77-79 mph.

Scouting Notes: Two-way prospect. On the mound he works exclusively from the stretch, featuring an overall pretty efficient delivery. Fast arm that works well through a high-3/4 slot for the southpaw. Fastball works downhill and breaking ball was tight. Fastball sat in the upper 70s with signs of more to come. Also mixed in a changeup that appears to be playable.
Fastball: 77-80mph.
Fastball Spin Rate: 1508-1863rpm.
Breaking Ball: 63-67mph.
Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1629-1779rpm.
Changeup: 68-69mph.

Hit:Some of the louder raw natural tools we've seen so far in this two day event. Obvious physicality with 73mph bat speed and 31gs of rotational acceleration according to blast. Those advanced tools allow him to generate mid 90s exit velocity and his ability to lift the baseball make him a consistent extra base hit candidate.
Power:Legit pop.
Offensive Projection:Run producer.
Field:Corner outfield prospect with quick feet. Sub 7.0 runner so he can track the ball down better than most out there. Ball skills are serviceable.
Throw:Above average strength for class.
Defensive Projection:RF/LF/1B.

2/19/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: On the mound the southpaw has an intent driven delivery that requires regular effort. Arm works through a high-3/4 slot. Ball comes out well. Fastball: Mostly true through the zone. Should see more velo. Sat in high 70s. Fastball Spin Rate:1600-1800 Curveball: Tight, hard breaker with good depth. 72-74 mph. Curveball Spin Rate:1700-1900 Changeup: Fastball look out of the hand with some slight cut. Solid pitch. Pitchability: In/out.

2/19/20 Position Player
Hit: Left-handed hitter that starts in an athletic stance. Uses a leg kick timing trigger during back load to hands. Very aggressive swinger. Natural tools are loud. BP was explosive at times.
Power: Gap abilities.
Offensive Projection: Gap abilities.

Field: Plays fast in the outfield. Ball skills are developing. Corner look to him. Also worked out at first base where he has a similar profile. Above average athlete for the spot. Could see him in at 1B or a corner outfield spot.
Throw: Clean arm with jump out of the hand.
Defensive Projection: Clean arm with jump out of the hand.

2/7/19 Pitching

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 170 pound strong, athletic

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Brings a more upbeat tempo throughout his motion. Releases out of a ¾ arm slot. Max effort guy behind each throw and gets down hill utilizing lower half very well with force and nice finish.

Fastball: 73-76 mph. Above average velocity showing strength in his arm. Commands it very well too for strikes.

Curveball: 63-66 mph. Still developing release point but is playable for sure. Saw signs of sharp bite breaking at batter’s hip with a 2-7 movement.

Changeup: 64-67 mph. Not much run to it currently but had some depth. Kept it low. Will continue to improve movement and control as he develops.

Pitchability: Has a future on the mound showing nice arm strength for his class. Pitches with a purpose and competes each time he toed the rubber. Plenty of time left to develop so expect increased ability and performance.

Body Type: 5-foot-10, 170-pound physical frame for class.

Swing Mechanics: Left-handed hitter that starts in an open stance. Uses a fluid leg kick to get lower half going. Hands move slight back during pitch recognition.

Hit: Aggressive swinger with a level path. Natural tools are obvious through the zone. Physical lefty with impressive hand speed. When he squares it, it goes, All fields pop with some big time authority to pull side.

Power: 93 mph exit velocity. Ball flies off his bat. Advanced pop for class. Present ability to leave the yard.

Offensive Projection: Run Producer.

Field: In the outfield he plays with aggressive feet. Plays through with average ball skills. Also worked out at first base where he showed above average athleticism for the position. Ball skills are developing. Projects as an outfielder.

Throw: 84 mph. Arm is top tool from the outfield. Ball jumps out of his hand with well aboverage strength for class.

Defensive Projection: Corner Outfield/1B.

Additional Comments: Swing has similar look/skill set as Nebraska commit Carson Nicodemo at the same age.
