Body Type: 6-foot-3 201-pound athletic, big framed prospect. More room to develop still.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a crouched setup and uses a mini leg kick for his load. Barrel is in and out of the zone rather quick. Pretty flat bat path. Swing presently is a little restrictive and overly mechanical and stiff.
Hit: Presently more of a pull approach but showed ability to find the barrel consistently. Mostly low linedrive type of swing.
Power: Ball jumped off the bat well in BP. Had an exit velo of 91 off the tee.
Offensive Projection: Definitely more raw power in the tank if his swing opens up a little and he uses his big frame to create more natural leverage and bat speed. Could potentially be a guy with true power potential if he figures it out.
Run: 4.87 home to 1st
Field: At 3B he played through the ball well and showed good natural footwork. Could improve the types of angles he takes to the ball.
Throw: Threw 76 mph across the diamond with decent carry.
Defensive Projection: Needs to improve raw arm strength to stick at 3B, probably would end up more of a corner OF type at the next level.
1/26/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-3 201-pound prospect with athletic build. Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Delivery works at a slow to moderate tempo, projects the hips and shows good direction. Long loose arm action works through a ¾ slot. Fastball: 77-78 mph fastball located well to both side of the plate with late sinking action. Curveball: 62-64 mph breaking ball works on an 11/5 tilt with developing depth. The pitch has tight spin and will get better has hand speed improves. Changeup: 68-71 mph changeup is thrown with fastball arm speed and shows late sinking action. Pitchability: Showed ability to command the fastball to both side of the plate. Both secondary offering are playable with the changeup being the most advanced presently. Breaking ball has potential to be a very good weapon in the future. Role: Too early to tell. Has the size and feel to potentially start in the future, much will be determined on how everything develops in the next couple of years.
