1/21/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-1 170-pound prospect with a projectable frame.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Starts with an athletic base, slight pause coming out of a chest high lift. Creates deception with a high glove side. Uses a short arm action working from a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 75-78 mph fastball is easy out of the hand with slight run to the arm side.
Curveball: 64-65 mph breaking ball shows some depth and sharpness on an 11/5 tilt.
Changeup: 73-74 mph changeup was mostly straight. Keeps some deception with fastball like arm speed.
Pitchability: Delivery has some funk to it and creates a good amount of deception. Shows above average feel for all three offerings. Breaking ball looks to be a future out pitch. Change is still developing but currently playable.
Role: All signs point to a future starter here. Nice feel for three pitches, good frame that projects for future velocity jumps.
1/21/19 Body Type: 6-foot-1 170-pound prospect with a projectable frame.
Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance from the right side. Leg kick initiates movement as barrel has some rhythm as it travels to a vertical launch position.
Hit: Aggressive swing with an in/out path. Hands are quick through the zone with some strength at contact for sure. Backspin to opposite field. Hands can get tied up at times. Once path levels out he should see easy increases in pop/backpin to both gaps. Ball jumps when squared.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity. Present gap abilities with more to come.
Offensive Projection: Multiple Roles.
Run: 8.14 60-yard dash.
Field: Worked out at third base where he attacked the baseball off the bat linearly. Actions have some athleticism to them and ball skills are on par for class.
Throw: 72 mph arm strength across the infield. Shorter, clean arm action. Ball comes out easy and throws were accuracy.
