Ethan Hendrickson: 1B/C, (2022) Vermilion, OH. 6-foot, 186-pound. Athletic solid during batting practice, the right-handed hitter had an exit velocity of 87 mph. (64.15 mph bat speed average). (18.87 mph hand speed average). Began in a balanced stance with a smooth load, then used a controlled stride. Had efficient bat speed, loose uphill swing plane and good extension on his finish. Through his round he found multiple barrels. Gap to gap approach. While in the infield, recorded position velocities up to 74 mph. Clocked a time of 7.55 in the 60-yard dash.   

Ethan Hendrickson: 1B/C, (2022) Vermilion, OH. 6-foot, 186-pound. Solid in the box, the right-handed hitter clocked an exit velocity of 93 mph. (67.33 mph bat speed average). (20.24 mph hand speed average). Starts in an athletic balanced stance with a smooth controlled load, then uses a short stride. Bat speed is above average, displays a level rotational swing plane and level finish. He found some barrels in his round. Line drive approach. Athletic in the infield, his best throw was registered at 80 mph; had a natural clean exchange, athletic footwork, and soft hands. Showed a consistent arm action and some accuracy to the bag. 

Ethan Hendrickson: 1B/C, (2022) Vermilion, OH. 6-foot, 186-pound athletic frame. During batting practice, Hendrickson recorded an exit velocity of 93 mph. Begins in a balanced stance with a controlled load, then uses a small leg kick. Bat speed is explosive, shows an upward swing plane and low finish. While catching, his best recorded velocity during throw downs was clocked at 73 mph. Athletic in the infield, recorded a position velocity of 82 mph; showed sure hands, consistent feet, and a quick exchange. Fields the ball out front, movements laterally were athletic. While catching, his best recorded throw to second was clocked at 73 mph; Displayed his ability to control the run game with a pop time of 1.96-2.03. Showed a high ¾ slot with a loose arm action. During the event, recorded a 60 time of 7.35.

Body Type: 5-foot-11, 165 pounds. Lean with room to add.

Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Releases out of a ¾ arm slot. Provides an even tempo pace in his delivery process. Does a nice job of hiding the ball until thrown.

Fastball: 71-75 mph. Shows arm-side run. Finishes more tall from windup leaving pitches higher in the zone. Out of the stretch lead to a more effective follow through and command results improved.
Curveball: 61-64 mph. Nice break to it. Comes out of same tunnel as fastball then drops. Motion helps with deception.
Changeup: 62-65 mph. Developing changeup. Tails with arm-side run. Slows arm action prior to release.  
Pitchability: Strong arm for class. Command on all three pitches expected to progress. Has a good size framed with potential in his future.

Swing Mechanics: Tall, slightly open setup. Uses a small leg lift with quiet hands until launch.
Hit: Compact, level stroke with a balanced combination of strength/speed to it. Path is in/out of the zone quicky producing low line drives/ground balls.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity. Line drive guy with gap abilities in there if he can add loft to stroke.
Offensive Projection: Ball Mover.
Run: 7.77 60-yard dash.
Field: Registered pop times of 2.10-2.18. Above average catch/throw abilities for class. Pop times will improve with arm strength.
Throw: Developing strength. 65 mph to second base.
Defensive Projection: C.

2/4/18

A right-handed hitter that starts in a narrow setup. Hands move slightly back during his leg kick timing trigger. A contact type guy with a compact swing. Showed some twitch to his hands with a knack for finding the barrel. Should see more pop as he adds strength to frame. Should play nicely as a table setter in a lineup presently. In the infield he uses short, choppy footwork prior to fielding. Fields the ball nicely, out in front of his body. Feet and actions are more fluid outside his funnel. In general shows an above average skills set in the infield for his class. Behind the dish he showed an above average skill set for class. Footwork is efficient and should develop more quickness with maturity. Arm action fits the spot and he threw with accuracy to second base.
