2/9/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Gillies showed a thin frame with remaining projection. He threw from a high ¾ arm slot and his arm action was a bit long in the backside. Overall moved fairly clean on the mound. Fastball: Fastball was 81-83 mph with some late life at times. Fastball Spin Rate: 1770-1970 Curveball: Breaking ball was 64-67 mph and profiled as a true curveball with good depth. Curveball Spin Rate: 2020-2100 Changeup: Changeup was 75-76 mph. Pitchability: Overall good feel for his three pitch mix. His breaking ball was particularly effective due to his arm slot and came out on the same plane as his fastball. The curve could develop into an above average offering with swing and miss potential.
