Power / Speed Score
A simple calculation that divides the athlete’s Exit Velocity Max by the athlete’s 60 Yard Dash time for the given event year. For example, 98 MPH / 7.00s = 14.00.
1/21/19 Body Type: 5-foot-11, 160-pound athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Balanced stance with a fluid back load to hands during knee pinch for timing. Hit: Swings with intent on a slightly uphill path to contact. All fields approach with feel for contact. Can get tied up at times but the ball jumps when squared. Physical kid hitter with above average bat speed. Power: 88 mph exit velocity. Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Run Producer that can play multiple roles. Run: 6.84 60-yard dash. Field: Worked out at third base where he plays under control too and through. Well above average defender. Throw: Tossed it across the infield with 81 mph arm strength. Ball jumps out of hand. Loose arm with more strength to come. Defensive Projection: 3B.
1/21/19 Pitching
Body Type: 5-foot-10 160-pound prospect with an average build.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Shows rhythm in the delivery, creates some deception with slight tilt and high glove side. Uses a long arm action through a ¾ slot.
Fastball: 76-77 mph fastball was mostly straight with occasional run when thrown to the arm side.
Slider: 72-73 mph slider offers a fairly sharp 11/5 break and has potential to be a swing and miss pitch.
Changeup: 72-73 mph changeup is mostly straight but does have deceptive arm speed. May be a more effective pitch if he can take a couple ticks off the pitch.
Pitchability: Offers a solid mix of four pitches. Showed good command of the fastball, and the ability to keep his breaking pitches from blending. Curveball seems to be more of a get over pitch, while the slider is the out pitch.
Role: Could see a potential starter or long relief type role at the next level. Has strong feel for all of his pitches and has plenty of room to mature physically suggesting there is more velocity to come in the future.
1/15/18
Ran a 6.95 60-yard dash. An outfielder with fluid actions. Footwork is mechanically sound, allowing him to maintain energy through fielding into his pro step. Transfer is quick and arm was accurate. Showcased 78 mph arm strength to home plate. A righty swinger that starts in an open stance. Lower half is fluid and creates impressive energy when weight shift is on time. Path is slightly downhill with above average natural tools through the zone. Ball really jumped to the middle of the field. Has the tools to be a run producer down the road. Recorded an exit velocity of 77 mph. On the mound the right-hander has rhythm in a compact delivery that requires regular effort. Uses a short arm action working from a high-¾ slot. Fastball shows consistent run sitting 76-78 mph. Breaking ball looks to like best secondary offering, at 65-68 mph the pitch has depth working on a 11/5 plane. Also showed a changeup, the pitch has occasional arm side run at 68-70 mph.
