2/15/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: On the mound Hanson has a controlled tempo into his leg lift and then is very linear down the mound. He shows an arm action that is a bit long in the backside but overall fairly efficient. He throws from a ¾ arm slot. Fastball: The fastball was 75-77 mph and mostly true through the zone. Fastball Spin Rate: 1860-1970 Curveball: His breaking ball was 63-68 mph with average shape and spin. Curveball Spin Rate: 1820-1990 Changeup: The changeup was 71-73 mph.
2/15/20 Position Player Hit: At the plate Hanson uses a mini leg kick load and gets into his back hip fairly well. He has a slight armbar during his load which causes him to cast his barrel at times. He shows good barrel control and catches the ball out front well. Top BP Exit Velocity: 91.4 mph Top BP Distance: 320 feet Offensive Projection: He shows good barrel control with power potential as he grows into his body. Field: In the outfield Hanson takes pretty aggressive routes to the ball with average footwork and plays through the ball well. Throw: 82 mph from the outfield. Defensive Projection:
2/2/2019
Body Type: 5-foot-8 160-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Starts in a medium setup with hands fairly tight to the body. Uses a front hip hinge/mini leg kick to start his load. Pretty short to the ball and shows minimal upper body loading during the swing. Shows a slightly uphill bat path.
Hit: Average bat to ball ability and barrel control.
Power: 81 mph exit velocity. Offensive Projection: Decent swing. Presently doesn’t show a ton of raw power but moves well and the ball jumped well for his age. Young guy to keep an eye on.
Field: In the outfield he attacks the ball and plays through it well. In the infield he showed below average angles and an ok rhythm and release.
Run: 7.35 60 yard dash.
Defensive Projection: Showed better polish in the outfield than the infield. Still showed well enough to be a guy that could move around the diamond at the high school level.
2/2/2019
Body Type: 5-foot-8 160-pound prospect.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Shows a pretty methodical tempo to his delivery. Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a somewhat long arm action in the backside, but the arm works fairly well with a smooth finish and layback.
Fastball: 68-71 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone.
Breaking Ball: 62-63 mph curveball showed average shape and spin.
Changeup: 64-66 mph changeup was mostly true through the zone but he maintained arm speed well.
Pitchability: Solid command of his three pitch mix. Role: Showed pretty solid stuff for a 2022. Present pitch mix would better lend itself to the bullpen. Showed fairly good movement patterns in his delivery that should help him gain velocity as he matures and add strength.
