1/25/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: 6-foot-2, 170-pound long levered frame with a ton of physical projection left. Fastball: Comes out well, slight cutting action. Should continue to trend upward as strength arrives. Sits 78-80 mph currently. Fastball Spin Rate: 1930-2050. Curveball: 11/5 shape with some late bite. Above average offering with good depth and should only get better as velo continues to trend upward. Really spins it. 66-68 mph. Curveball Spin Rate: 2230-2300. Changeup: Above average offering, good sell with some late dive to it. Looks comfortable with the offering. Pitchability: Looks to be a strike thrower for the most part.
1/26/20 Position Player Hit: Projectable build. Easy movements in the box. Long lever type with a bit more present strength than speed to hands. Path is compact with slight donwhill tendency. One to look out for once he fills out that projectable frame. Landed on a few balls to pull side in BP. Power: Gap abilities. Offensive Projection: Middle frame/ceiling. Top Rapsodo BP Exit Velocity: 91 mph. Top Rapsodo BP Distance: 351 ft.
7/03/19
Body Type: 6-foot-2, 170-pound thin and athletic frame. Swing Mechanics: Open stance with a simple load that has minimal movement. Keeps his hands loose and loaded. Hit: Level bat path that works inside the baseball well, and goes to all fields. Good feel in the box. He remains loose and athletic through contact. Power: Line drive guy right now with more to come. Offensive Projection: TBD. Field: In the infield he plays light on his feet and displays above average ball skills for class. Frame and skill set play in the corners. Throw: 3/4 righty with jump out of the hand and more strenght to come. Defensive Projection: Corner Infield.
2/3/19
Body Type: 6-foot-2 160-pound prospect.
Swing Mechanics: Uses a toe tap load. Slightly casts his barrel with with a flat, nearly downhill, bat path. Hit: Good bat to ball ability and barrel control.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity.
Offensive Projection: With present swing mechanics and projectable frame it is safe to assume Evanich will at least develop into a gap to gap guy in high school.
Field: At 1B he showed good feet and feel around the bag.
Throw: 66 mph across the diamond.
Run: 7.70 60 yard dash.
Defensive Projection: Looks the part to be adequate at 1B at the next level.
2/3/19 Pitching
Body Type: 6-foot-2 160-pound prospect.
Mechanical/Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a methodical tempo to his delivery.
Fastball: 69-72 mph fastball was mostly true through the zone.
Breaking Ball: 60-61 mph breaking ball showed curveball shape with a tumbling type action.
Changeup: 65-66 mph changeup was mostly true through the zone.
Pitchability: Average feel and command for his three pitch mix.
Role: Shows solid abilities and a good frame for a 2022. Present pitch arsenal would profile as a bullpen arm, but as he develops physically that could change. Adding physical strength and explosiveness will be crucial going forward.
