Bat gets through the zone on a level path. Swings with the intent to do damage. Showed gap to gap pop with power potential to his pull side. Very quick, athletic footwork for frame in the infield. 8/2/16
5-foot-9, 180-pound strong frame. Ran a 4.64 from home to first. The third baseman has smooth footwork and remains athletic as he plays through the ball. Glove works and transfer is efficient. Threw across the infield with 75 mph arm strength. Solid defender. At the plate he uses a leg kick to start his loading sequence. Bat gets through the zone on a flat path with above average batspeed. Showed pop to his pull side and reached a top exit velocity of 84 mph. On the mound the righty has a three-pitch mix to his arsenal. Fastball sat consistently 81-82 mph. Showcased two different breaking balls, both quality pitches. His 11/5 breaking ball was one of the better ones we saw all day with sharp action and good depth. Also threw a slider that he used to either freeze righties or backdoor lefties.
6/15/16
5-foot-9, 190-pound strong frame. At the plate he starts in a balanced setup. During his short stride forward he takes his hands back to stay balanced. Remained smooth on the move. Above average arm strength across the infield. On the mound he worked through a high ¾ slot with clean arm action and average armspeed. His fastball sat 77-79 mph with some sink to it. His best offspeed pitch was his 11/5 shaped breaking ball that showed signs of sharpness at 65-67 mph. Also mixed in a changeup near fastball armspeed at 69-72 mph.
2/13/16
5-foot-9, 190-pound prospect. Slow tempo to his delivery. Tendency to step outside of his body out of the windup causing some directional issues. Short arm action from a high ¾ slot. Fastball showed occasional sink running up to 78 mph. Changeup was most consistent off-speed pitch at 71-72 mph with sink. Mixed in a slurvey type breaking ball at 66-68 mph with tight spin to it. At the plate he uses a simple approach from the right side to keep a short, compact swing. Using an easy, hands back load as he strides forward he takes a downward path to the ball. Exit velocity was 78 and he ran a 7.58 60-yard dash. In the infield he did a good job of fielding the ball out in front of his body with confidence in his glove. Would like to see him improve footwork. Through a ¾ slot he threw across the diamond with 69 mph arm strength.
