6/6/18 The 6-foot-5, 180-pound big, lanky pitching prospect has plenty of room to develop physically with a frame that will be able to handle it. Good rhythm to the delivery that stays smooth into his motion while requiring regular effort. Would benefit greatly from better use of the lower half and taking advantage of his long limbs. Directionally works well toward home plate with a soft landing at foot strike while using a tall & fall style. Arm action is long and loose through high ¾ slot. Fastball ranges from 78-81 mph with occasional cut. Curveball is a big breaker that varies between 12/6 and 11/5 movement with gradual break. An interesting follow going into his senior year.
8/2/16 6-foot-2, 150-pound projectable frame. Ran a 6-foot-2, 150-pound frame. Ran a 4.5 from home to first. A right-handed hitter that starts in a tall setup. Uses a knee pinch load to start his movement prior to his stride forward. Hands remain simple before taking a flat path to the ball. Uses a middle away approach while showing average batspeed through the zone. Reached a top exit velocity of 77 mph. In the infield he has a tendency to field the ball deep in the middle of his body. Using a ¾ slot he threw across the infield with 70 mph arm strength. On the mound he showed off a three pitch mix while working through a near ¾ slot. His arm slot gives natural run to his 74-76 mph fastball. His breaking ball showed gradual break with a 10/4 shape at 65-65 mph. Also showed feel for a changeup that had similar action to his fastball.
1/31/16 6-foot-1, 135-pound thin, projectable frame. Ran a 4.59 from home to first. At the plate he uses a simple approach with some rhythm to his load. He keeps his hands relatively simple which allow him to get in and out of the zone quickly. Was able to register a top exit velocity of 73 mph. In the field he showed the ability to move well laterally and had confidence in his glove. From a 3/4 slot he showed 63 mph arm strength across the diamond. On the mound he uses a slower tempo delivery and does a good job generating momentum towards home plate. Lands in line to home plate at foot strike with an athletic finish. His fastball sat 69-71mph and was complimented by his gradually breaking 59-61 mph curveball with an 11/5 shape. Also mixed in a changeup that had some sink at 57-58 mph.
