Cody DeVos: RHP/OF, (2021) Bay, OH. 6-foot-2, 165-pound projectable frame. On the mound, curveball (72-73 mph) Moves on an 11/5 plane w/above average sharpness/solid pitch, changeup (72-74 mph) thrown with good sell and regular fade.Threw his fastball 81-82 mph. Pitch showed regular running action. Ball comes out of hand well.
7/28/20
Scouting Notes: Very projectable/athletic 6-foot-3 frame. Very athletic mover that projects for more velocity down the road. Fastball/slider guy for the most part. Stuff is sharp and expect the slider to continue to sharpen up as he hits his impending velo jump. Fastball showed late life to both sides of the plate. Also flashed a changeup that he has developing feel for that had a similar look to the fastball. Fastball: 78-81mph. Fastball Spin Rate: 1701-2049. Breaking Ball: 70-73mph. Breaking Ball Spin Rate: 1571-1789. Changeup: 75-76mph. Changeup Spin Rate: 1377-1517
6/23/20
Scouting Notes:Right-hander with an efficient delivery that doesn't require much effort. Arm really works. Loose action with easy deliveries. Wouldn't be shocked if he was in store for a velocity jump. Changeup was impressive as well, showing good sell with late dip through the zone. Tight slider that has enough action to miss barrels. Fastball:80-82 mph. Mostly true, heavier pitch, higher spin. Fastball Spin Rate:1883-2100 Curveball:69-71 mph. Solid depth with late bite, potential swing/miss offering down the road. Curveball Spin Rate:1660-1820 Changeup: 75-76 mph.
2/08/20
2/8/20 Pitching Delivery Notes: Throws from a ¾ arm slot with a fairly clean arm action. Delivery shows minimal effort and the ball jumps out of his hand very naturally. Fastball: Fastball was 80-82 mph and true through the zone. Fastball Spin Rate:1810-1980 Curveball: The breaking ball showed slider type spin but with minimal action at 74-76 mph. Would be better described as a slow cutter. Curveball Spin Rate: 1550-1600 Changeup: Changeup was the better of the two secondary offerings and ranged from 74-77 mph. It was mostly true but did show promising arm side run and fade at times. Pitchability: Overall above average feel for his three pitch mix. Changeup shows good potential while the breaking ball needs more refinement to develop into a quality offering
